As Mayor, how will Dock make Las Vegas Safer for all?.

Las Vegas has an unacceptable, inexcusably high crime rate.
As Mayor, I’ll fight to fully fund our Police Department and establish irreproachable Police Services.
I’ll make certain all residents feel safe anytime, anyplace.

A city can’t police its way into safety. We must develop a culture of safety, fostered by mutual trust and cooperation between police and the community.

Our police will be transparent, respectful, fair, service oriented, and accountable.
The community will be encouraged to be alert, engaged, helpful, and respectful of one another, as well as the police.

The quality and quantity of staff matter. Historically, the City of Las Vegas has contributed a significant portion of the LVMPD's funding, often ranging from around 35% to 40% of the total budget. Therefore, I'll insist that the Metro Police Department achieve and maintain a ratio of two well trained officers per 1,000 citizens as prescribed by the Clark County ‘More Cops Fund' sales tax initiative.

To reduce turnover and training costs, we'll recruit career minded officers and civilian personnel and prioritize retention.

Not only will we adopt and codify forward thinking policing policies that are community friendly, we'll implement the most effective proactive best practices; employ proven procedures; and maximize the use of the most advanced state-of-the-art equipment and technology.

Our proactive policing techniques and tactics will be designed to make adversarial interactions between community members and the police less frequent, less confrontational, less dangerous, less violent, and less deadly.

Our high quality training, advanced technology, and upgraded deployment methods will reduce the deployment and response time across all 77 Vegas zip codes.

How will Dock Walls improve education (K-12, higher ed, or both) in Las Vegas?

A World Class city requires a substantive, high quality, highly ranked Educational System.

Education is key to our ability to attract new businesses, develop new industries, and expand our economy.

Therefore, I’ll use my platform to promote change and improve our national K-12 and Higher education rankings.

Refusing to settle for a one-size-fits-all Educational System, I’ll work with the Governor and State Legislature to ensure the funding and flexibility necessary to provide each individual student a superior public school education.

We’ll evaluate the birth circumstances, family make-up, living conditions and location of each student and design a plan to get that particular student through the 12th grade and beyond.

We’re short 1,300 teachers. I’ll fight to improve teacher wages, safety and working conditions. I’ll wage a national advertising campaign to recruit teachers.

Although the mayor does not appoint School Board members, and isn’t directly responsible for education, I’ll support school board candidates capable of implementing policies, practices and systems conducive to a reliable, highly competitive academic system.

The stability and reliability of our educational operations is critical. To support our teachers and avoid a strike, which would disrupt our local economy, I’ll weigh in on discussions concerning teachers' contract demands and workplace issues to help resolve disputes.

The average transfer student loses 6 months of education because our curriculums are varied and helter-skelter. I’ll drive an effort to establish system-wide, grade specific common curriculums, developed by an august body including designees of the School Board, Superintendent, Principals, Administrators, Teachers, Parents, and Educational Community Activists.

This will necessitate and be a catalyst for the provision of similar resources for all schools within the Clark County School District.
We’ll achieve optimum balance between standardization and the flexibility necessary to accommodate the unique peculiarities of individual students, community challenges, various levels of language development, and special learning needs.

How will I use my position as Las Vegas Mayor to encourage greater voter and/or civic participation in Southern Nevada?

As Las Vegas Mayor, I will utilize Public Service Announcements to encourage Voter, Registration, Voter Education and Voter Participation. Our catchphrase will be: “You preserve Democracy when you register and vote.”

I'll provide non-partisan, candidate neutral voter registration opportunities at City Hall and each of our city service facilities, as well as within our churches, synagogues, mosques, and other faith-based halls, to register eligible voters.
To facilitate civic engagement and neighborhood unity, we'll sponsor an unprecedented number of neighborhood events, during which we'll register voters and enable neighbors to get to know one another.

Our Civic Participation campaign will use social media to inform the youth about community events, youth councils, and leadership development seminars and stress the importance of maintaining our Democracy.

I'll advocate for educational programs in schools and communities to spur timely discussion of current issues and provide information concerning opportunities to volunteer and assist with community projects.

I'll schedule recurring community forums, via Zoom, to enable resident feedback.
I'll take advantage of every civic engagement opportunity to promote cultural and diversity sensitivity. I'll unify Las Vegas and make it a city that fulfills the hopes and dreams of residents of all ages, races, socio-economic backgrounds, various religious persuasions, all sexual orientations, all physical and mental disabilities or other limitations.

I'll launch a public awareness campaign, featuring celebrities, to promote the concept that we are all inextricably intertwined and that we’re stronger and better together than we are apart.

Walls For Mayor is the most advanced effort to elect a Community First Chicago Mayor. This well-coordinated campaign is powered by a broad-based group of ethnically and geographically diverse concerned citizens. In addition to having the most plausible and viable campaign platform, we are bold and energetic. We are the only campaign team offering the average voter some degree of certainty in regards to the 2015 Chicago Mayor's race.

As Mayor, I will unify this city by promoting cultural, and diversity sensitivity among people of all races, ages, sexual orientations, and religious persuasions. I will bring Chicago together as one complete community so that all Chicagoans have an equal opportunity to prosper, and proudly embrace their unique distinctions. Our administration will make sure everyone is treated fairly and none are neglected. We will provide unprecedented support to all people, throughout the entire city, and enable them to follow their dreams.

My highest priority will be to establish irreproachable Public Safety Services. Through public initiatives, private initiatives and comprehensive tax reform we will stimulate the City's economy to foster Full Employment. We will develop and efficiently maintain our Public Infrastructure; Enrich the Department on Aging to ensure the health and well being of our Senior Citizens; Provide a superior Public School Education for each and every individual child; Program the Mayor's Office of Employment and Training to train and re-train adults, and end corruption in Chicago.

Additionally, we will change the focus of city government from beautification and infrastructure improvement to Economic Development. Our goal is to provide Chicago businesses the wherewithal to compete in the National and Global Economy and bring new revenue, jobs, and Industry back to Chicago, Illinois. Over the next 4 years, I will use $1 Billion of the city council approved $7.6 Billion Capital Improvement Program to Create 50,000, Self-perpetuating, Private Sector Jobs.

Furthermore, the Walls For Mayor Campaign has developed an initiative entitled, "Grocers Community Owned and Operated" This Public-Private Partnership is a Government Funded and Community Driven project which will take four years to complete. It shall result in the creation of 20 Big Box Grocery stores, 60 mid-sized Neighborhood Markets, an estimated 5,000 Construction jobs, 20,000 permanent Grocery Store Industry jobs, and 25,000 residual, self-perpetuating, private sector jobs.
