This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

At this week's Workforce Connections Board meeting, several members of the newly formed Youth Council shared powerful stories during public comment about how the Employ NV Youth Hub helped them discover career direction and new opportunities for their future.

Because of their experiences, they were recruited to serve on the new Youth Council that will impact the future of workforce development for young adults ages 16–24. Their feedback and lived experiences will help identify what’s working, what can be improved, and how we can better support young people on their education and career journeys.

We’re proud to see these future leaders using their voices to strengthen Southern Nevada’s public workforce development system! 💥

Mitch Cloward, Region President (Desert Region), Intermountain Health, talks with Workforce Connections Executive Director Jaime Cruz. Mitch oversees all operations for the Southern Nevada and Southwest Utah markets.

His first job in healthcare was working as a housekeeper in the intensive care unit of a large hospital, and his diverse background has given him broad and deep experience in insurance, physician practice management and hospital operations.

Workforce Connections was honored for its innovative, customer-centered approach that is not only transforming service delivery in Southern Nevada, but also serving as a model for workforce systems nationwide.

We want to hear directly from the public about perceptions of manufacturing careers, awareness of local opportunities, barriers to entry, and what makes these careers appealing — or not.

No experience required. No agenda. Just your honest perspective.
