Nevada is proudly represented again at The Cannes International Film Festival this year by ambassadors from the Cordillera International Film Festival Future Filmmakers Foundation and our partners in the Reno‑Tahoe Territory—championing our state on a global film stage. 🎬✨

They’re on a mission to share why Nevada—especially Northern Nevada —is a film‑friendly, visually stunning, and highly collaborative destination for future productions.

They understand the benefits film production brings to the region; fueling tourism, supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and bringing long‑lasting visibility to our communities.

From Reno and Lake Tahoe to Carson City, Virginia City, and the Carson Valley, Nevada offers filmmakers cinematic variety, authentic character, and the kind of production partnership that truly makes a difference.

Are you there too?!

Last night, the Nevada film community gathered at The Space as Film Nevada hosted its Mental Health for the Film Industry panel during Mental Health Awareness Month. In an industry built on passion, uncertainty, long hours, freelance instability, and relentless creative pressure, the event created something rare for entertainment professionals in Las Vegas: a space centered on honesty, support, and real conversation.

Hosted by Danette Tull of Film Nevada, the panel brought together industry professionals and mental health advocates to discuss the emotional realities of working in film and entertainment. Panel members included Teri Raven of Four Seasons Counseling and producer Brendan Devane of Sadieland Productions, who shared perspectives on stress, burnout, anxiety, and the psychological toll creative careers can carry. The conversation also emphasized the importance of healthier production environments and stronger community support systems within Nevada’s growing entertainment industry.

What made the evening particularly impactful was how authentic and grounded the discussion felt. Rather than treating mental health as a secondary topic, the panel positioned it as a critical part of sustaining long-term careers in the arts. Rejection, inconsistent work, financial instability, isolation during productions, and the emotional weight many creatives carry were discussed openly in a way that resonated deeply with attendees.

Organizations including Film Nevada and Four Seasons Counseling reinforced the idea that building a successful film industry in Las Vegas goes beyond studios and infrastructure. It also requires support for the people behind the productions themselves.

While the panel was designed primarily for film and production professionals, the positioning of future conversations feels much broader. The themes discussed throughout the evening clearly extend beyond film sets and production offices, opening the door for creatives of all kinds to participate in future discussions surrounding mental health and sustainability in creative careers.

Hacks came to Southern Nevada and our local teams delivered solid, professional work that keeps productions moving and coming back.

This is what a film-friendly community looks like in action.
