The Spring Valley Area Command is responsible for the coordination and professional delivery of police services to this area of the city as well as areas of Clark County. In addition, Spring Valley also serves the area of China Town and is home to two major hotel casinos and three high schools. The boundaries are Sahara Ave to the north, I-15 to the east, Warm Springs Rd to the south, and Durango Dr to the west.

Downtown Summerlin was a party for National Night Out!

Summerlin, Northwest, and Spring Valley Area Commands joined forces for a night to remember. SWAT, CSI, Traffic, and other LVMPD units gathered with the community for pictures, food, fun, games, music, and much more.

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

Domestic violence can take many forms, including physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, and financial abuse, as well as control and isolation. If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, you are not alone and support is available.

The Southern Nevada Family Justice Center (FJC) provides a safe, confidential place where survivors can access a full range of services and resources related to domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and human trafficking.

CURFEW ⏰

Heading downtown? Know the hours before you go, especially for First Friday.

For unaccompanied minors under 18, the downtown enhanced curfew is 9 p.m.–5 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, legal holidays and New Year’s Eve.

This enhanced area applies to the downtown section bordered by Maryland Parkway, Bridger Avenue, Main Street and Stewart Avenue, shown on the map, including the Fremont Street Experience.

Elsewhere in the City of Las Vegas, school-year curfew hours are:
✔️ Sunday–Thursday: 10 p.m.–5 a.m.
✔️ Friday–Saturday: midnight–5 a.m.

During CCSD summer vacation and school holidays, general curfew hours are midnight–5 a.m. Parents and guardians: know your child’s plans and location. Go together. Stay together.

Exceptions include accompaniment by a parent, guardian or adult with legal care, custody and control, or being on lawful business or engaged in a lawful occupation. A city special-event permit must specifically waive LVMC 10.54.015 for the general citywide curfew to apply instead.

Curfew violations may result in a citation, fines, being escorted out of the area, or being detained while a parent or guardian is contacted. Parents and guardians may also face penalties for allowing a child to violate curfew.

Schedule an appointment to GIVE BLOOD at www.donors.vitalant.org and search for available times with blood drive code: L1S76 or contact Vitalant at 877-258-4825 for assistance. Appointments are encouraged; walk-ins are always welcome!

Donors who give blood September 11-30, 2026 will be automatically entered for a chance to win one of two $10,000 gift cards in Vitalant giveaway; PLUS will be eligible to get an exclusive, glow-in-the-dark, Halloween t-shirt redeemable online through Donor Rewards! Opt-in required.

Let’s come together as a community and give a gift that truly matters. One donation can help save lives!

As a reminder, here’s a list of minimum donor eligibility requirements:

• Donors must be at least 16 years-old, weigh at least 110* pounds and feel well and healthy to give blood.
• Tattoos are acceptable if done in a Nevada retail establishment and have healed (usually 2-3 weeks after applied).
• Donors cannot be taking antibiotics for at least 48 hours prior to the blood drive.
• Some travel outside of the U.S. may have a 3-month deferral from date of return.
• Donors who were born, lived, or traveled to Europe between 1980 and 1996 are now able to resume giving blood as restrictions have been lifted.
• For a list of medications that may prevent donors from giving blood, please review at www.vitalant.org/health.
• For any other donor eligibility questions, please contact Vitalant at 877-258-4825 for assistance.

Remembering September 11 💙

This morning, our officers stood alongside Las Vegas Fire & Rescue at Station 5 for the annual September 11th Tolling of the Bell Ceremony. This solemn tradition honors the victims of 9/11, and pays tribute to the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice that day.

The ceremony began at 6:45 a.m., marking the approximate time the South Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed. Station 5 holds profound symbols of remembrance: a piece of steel recovered from Ground Zero and a flag that once flew above the World Trade Center. Each year, on this day, that flag is raised in honor of all who were lost.
