Bricks 4 Kidz provides an extraordinary atmosphere for children, where we learn, build, and play with LEGO® bricks. Programs are built around our proprietary model plans designed by engineers and architects, all with exciting themes such as space, construction, and amusement parks. Our specially-designed project kits and theme-based models provide the building blocks for our approach to educational play. We offer activities for children ages 3-14+, including after-school enrichment classes, summer camps, holiday camps, birthday parties, preschool classes, and Kidz Nights Out. Tonight the sidewalks fill up with astronauts, dinosaurs, superheroes and at least one very determined dragon.
It's the one night a year when kids get to be exactly who they pictured, and the rest of us get to play along. 🎃
Imagination is the whole point, which is something we're fond of around here.
We hope your evening is full of laughing, running between houses and far too much candy.

Pressing two pieces together until they hold is harder than it looks when your hands are still learning.
For the youngest builders, that's the whole lesson. Line it up. Press. Check that it held. Do it again.
Along the way they're building finger strength, hand-eye coordination, focus that lasts a little longer than it did last month, and the first real experience of finishing something by themselves. 🌱
They won't remember what they made. They'll remember that they made it.

What's the first thing your child ever built on their own?

A kid fits the last gear. Turns the handle. The wheels move. ⚙️
And the first thing they do is look up to see whether anyone noticed.
That's the part parents remember. Not the model, the face.
At Bricks 4 Kidz, kids build things that actually do something. Wheels that roll, structures that hold, parts that move the way they're meant to. Getting there takes real effort, and when it works, a child learns something a worksheet can't teach them. My ideas turn into real things, and I can make them work.

When did you last see that look on your child's face?

Today is National Fossil Day, and there's a reason kids never get tired of dinosaurs.
Paleontologists rarely find a whole skeleton. They find fragments, then work out what fits where, what's missing, and what the animal must have looked like. It's detective work with bones. 🦕
That same thinking, figuring out how separate pieces add up to one structure, is what kids practice every time they build at Bricks 4 Kidz. Spatial reasoning, patience, and sticking with something until it makes sense.

Which dinosaur does your child know the most about?

October 4 to 10 is World Space Week, and it's a good week to tell kids how spacecraft actually get built.
Not all at once. Every part is designed, measured, tested and reinforced by people who care whether it holds.
Kids at Bricks 4 Kidz work the same way on a much smaller scale. They build, check whether it stands, strengthen the base, improve the design. Same instincts, same patience, same satisfaction when it finally holds together. 🚀

There's a moment in every build where a child isn't sure what comes next.
What happens in that moment is the whole job.
Bricks 4 Kidz instructors are trained to read it. Sometimes it's a question that points in the right direction. Sometimes it's a hand on the next piece. Often it's waiting a few seconds longer, because the child is about to work it out themselves. 💡
That's the difference between being shown and being taught. Kids leave with the model they built, and the feeling that they built it.

To a parent watching from the doorway it looks like play. A kid, a pile of colorful bricks and a lot of noise.
Here's what's actually happening.
They're holding an idea in their head long enough to make it real. They're working out why one version held and another didn't. They're negotiating with the kid across the table over who gets the last wheel. And they're staying with something hard past the point where they wanted to quit. ⚙️
None of it feels like learning. All of it is.
That's what a Bricks 4 Kidz session is built to do, and it's the part that stays long after the model comes apart.

Which of those would you most want your child to get better at?

Every builder learns the same lesson early. If the base is weak, it doesn't matter how good the rest looks.
The Constitution was signed 239 years ago today on that same principle. Get the foundation right, and what you build on top of it can hold for generations.
At Bricks 4 Kidz, kids discover this with their own hands. A tower with a narrow base topples. A bridge without support sags. So they widen it, reinforce it and try again, and learn that things built to last are built that way on purpose. 💡

What's the tallest thing your child has ever built?

Ask a grandparent how something works and you'll rarely get a short answer. You'll get the story of the first time they took one apart.
That instinct, to open it up, figure it out and put it back together, is the same one behind every model a child builds at Bricks 4 Kidz. Colorful bricks, gears and motors are just a newer way to ask a very old question: how does this actually work? 💡
Today we're thanking the grandparents who answered that question first, and who are still the best people to build alongside.
