Celebrating Senior Health & Fitness Day! 💜💪

At Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, we know that healthy aging starts with nourishment, connection, and care.
Through our Meals on Wheels program, we are proud to serve seniors in our community with the resources and support they need to live healthy, independent lives. 🍽️💜

Earlier this month, our president and CEO, Sara Ramirez, had the honor of joining her fellow Catholic Charities USA Board Directors for a pilgrimage to Rome, where they had the profound honor of meeting Pope Leo XIV. Reflecting on this meaningful experience, Sara shares a message that continues to inspire all of us:

“Throughout the pilgrimage, I found myself thinking constantly about the people we serve every day in Southern Nevada. And I thought about all of you.

Our staff.
Our volunteers.
Our donors.
Our board members.
Our partners.
The people who choose, every single day, to become part of someone else’s hope.

Standing in places that have carried centuries of prayer and human struggle, I was reminded how deeply connected we all are through acts of compassion, service, and love. I returned home still processing much of what this experience meant personally and spiritually. But one thing feels clearer to me than ever:
Every act of care matters.
Every moment of dignity matters.
Every person matters.

And in a world that can often feel disconnected, I was reminded that perhaps the most powerful thing we can do is help another person feel known, valued, and not alone.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of carrying this mission with me to Rome. More importantly, thank you for living this mission every day here at home.”
