Clark County is shining a bright red light on our local healthcare champions! 🔴🩺

In honor of , Clark County Commissioner Naft recognized Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy during a special ceremony at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign! Observed from October 18–24, this week celebrates the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who care for our communities every day.

An official proclamation was presented to Larry Fannin, dean of the Roseman University College of Pharmacy, to honor the amazing faculty and students! As Nevada's first and only college of pharmacy, Roseman is proud to prepare future generations to join these vital healthcare professionals.

According to Federal labor estimates, Southern Nevada is home to approximately 1,850 pharmacists and 3,480 pharmacy technicians hard at work in our community! Having proudly graduated more than 3,200 pharmacists since welcoming its first students in 2001, Roseman continues to shape the future of local healthcare.

Let’s keep shining a light on the incredible professionals who keep our community healthy and safe every single day! ✨

Honoring one of our area's biggest road safety advocates. October 19, 2026 is "Jeff Payne Day" in Las and Clark County. Nearly 100,000 Nevadans have gone through his Driver's Edge program over the past 25 years.

As part of the kick off of Teen Driver Safety Week, Commission Chairman Michael Naft, F1 Las Vegas and LVMPD Traffic presented Jeff a proclamation and ticket package to the upcoming F1 race week.

In recognizing Jeff, Commissioner Naft says his work and his Driver's Edge program has "no doubt, saved lives." Jeff says that work will continue. Driver's Edge got its start in the parking lot of Palace Station Hotel & Casino in hotel in 2001. The program now has an amazing partner in the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

It's National Teen Driver Safety Week. Locally, Clark County's Office Traffic Safety, LVMPD and F1 Las Vegas are taking the effort further. At the LVMPD Traffic Bureau, Commission Chairman Michael Naft help launch the “Good 2 Go” safety campaign. The overall goal is to encourage young drivers to get proper education, training and supervised driving before taking to the roads on their own.

that car crashes are the leading cause of death of teens and teen drivers. That's what makes education and training so important. However, fewer teens are getting their license at the age of 16 - less than 1 in 4 of 16 year olds have a license. Why is that a problem - because at 18, at least in Nevada, there is less training, supervision and education required.

The "Good 2 Go" campaign is a step towards the goal of changing that. People will see the Public Service Announcement on social media and billboards around Las and Southern Nevada.
