ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

LVMPD officers responded to a serious wrong-way collision near Sahara Avenue and Tenaya Way. Two people were transported to the hospital, and both drivers are in critical condition. The cause of the collision is unknown at this time and remains under investigation.

In just the past couple of weeks, we’ve lost six lives on our roadways. Every life lost is a family forever changed. We cannot keep seeing these tragedies happen.

If you’re impaired, DON’T DRIVE. If you feel unwell behind the wheel, pull over safely and seek medical help. Never put your life or someone else’s at risk.

Your choices behind the wheel have consequences. Do your part. Drive safely. Help us stop these preventable tragedies before another life is lost.

Domestic violence often follows a cycle of broken promises and repeated harm. Kristian's courage reminds us of the importance of recognizing the warning signs, seeking support, and knowing that help is available.

Six more lives were lost on our roads this week. Six. An unbelievable number, and one of our highest weekly totals since January.

Behind every number is a person, a family, and a community forever changed. These tragedies are a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly one moment on the road can change lives forever.

As you travel throughout the valley, remember that your decisions behind the wheel affect more than just you. Every trip is an opportunity to help prevent another tragedy.

RAINY WEATHER DIDN’T DAMPEN OUR DUI ENFORCEMENT

Despite wet roads and rainy conditions from Rachel, LVMPD officers and our law enforcement partners conducted a DUI Blitz over the weekend to help keep impaired drivers off the road.

The enforcement effort resulted in:

314 traffic stops
232 citations
24 DUI arrests
3 other arrests
1 recovered fi***rm
27 vehicles towed

Thank you to our patrol officers, LVMPD Traffic, Nevada State Police, Henderson Police Department, phlebotomists, and dispatchers who helped make this operation a success.

One life was lost on our roadways this week. While that number is lower than in previous weeks, we cannot call it a victory. One family is still facing an unimaginable loss. One life is still one too many.

Slow down. Stay focused. Buckle up. Never drive impaired. Let’s work together to make sure next week’s number is ZERO.

CURFEW ⏰

Heading downtown? Know the hours before you go, especially for First Friday.

For unaccompanied minors under 18, the downtown enhanced curfew is 9 p.m.–5 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, legal holidays and New Year’s Eve.

This enhanced area applies to the downtown section bordered by Maryland Parkway, Bridger Avenue, Main Street and Stewart Avenue, shown on the map, including the Fremont Street Experience.

Elsewhere in the City of Las Vegas, school-year curfew hours are:
✔️ Sunday–Thursday: 10 p.m.–5 a.m.
✔️ Friday–Saturday: midnight–5 a.m.

During CCSD summer vacation and school holidays, general curfew hours are midnight–5 a.m. Parents and guardians: know your child’s plans and location. Go together. Stay together.

Exceptions include accompaniment by a parent, guardian or adult with legal care, custody and control, or being on lawful business or engaged in a lawful occupation. A city special-event permit must specifically waive LVMC 10.54.015 for the general citywide curfew to apply instead.

Curfew violations may result in a citation, fines, being escorted out of the area, or being detained while a parent or guardian is contacted. Parents and guardians may also face penalties for allowing a child to violate curfew.

In a powerful demonstration of leading by example, Captain Dudley went out of his comfort zone to complete motor training school. He took the initiative because he refused to lead blindly. He wanted to know exactly what his officers experience on their daily shifts. This highlights Captain Dudley’s deep care for his team and his unwavering commitment to protecting our community with empathy, insight, and shared experience.

TRAFFIC INITIATIVE!

Today, LVMPD officers were out conducting traffic enforcement near I-215 and Town Center Drive as part of the Southern Nevada Traffic Task Force. During the enforcement operation, officers encountered drivers who were speeding, distracted, and simply not driving safely.

These are the behaviors that can turn a routine drive into a serious or even deadly crash. When you are behind the wheel:

🚗 Slow down
📵 Put the phone away
👀 Pay attention
🔒 Buckle up
❤️ Make it home safe

You’ll continue to see our officers out across the valley working to make Southern Nevada roads safer. Pay attention, because once those red and blue lights get behind you, it’s too late!
