Over the last few weeks, members of our company, along with colleagues from throughout the area, worked together to complete the updated curriculum for rope rescue operations.
Many of our members had received similar training in the past and participated as a refresher, while others learned these skills for the first time. Crews demonstrated proficiency in knot tying, setting up lowering and hauling systems using twin-tension mechanical advantage systems, and performing both low- and high-angle rescue techniques.
As the needs of our community continue to evolve, maintaining these specialized skills is essential. This training will play a crucial role in allowing us to provide effective protection and assistance not only to Unity Township, but to our neighboring communities as well.
We’re proud of the dedication and effort our members put into continuing their training and being prepared to serve when our community needs us most.
