It was a little warm, but a successful morning for the Emancipation Day 5k and Fun Walk. The Laurel Historical Society had a well dressed team.

Remember to come out later for the Emancipation Day Parade and festival.

It looks like great weather this evening. Come check out Laurel Parks & Recreation Music at the Mansion.

With the July 27 City of Laurel Council meeting canceled, I wanted to offer another opportunity for residents to stop by and ask questions or talk through City issues.

I'll be holding a special Kole's Korner on Thursday, July 30, from 6–8 PM at Oliver's Old Towne Tavern.

Kole's Korner is my informal version of office hours. There's no agenda and no appointments. Just stop by if you have a question or want to talk something through.

I wont be providing food or drinks, but feel free to grab something from Oliver's while you're there.

I hope to see you Thursday.

Due to a viewing for a friend, I will be canceling July's Kole's Korner, scheduled for 7/9/26.

I apologize for any inconvenience. Kole's Korner will return on the second Thursday in August.

If you have a City question or concern before then, please don't hesitate to reach out by email or Facebook message.

Maryland Municipal League Summer Conference 2026 is already off to a busy start. The schedule is packed with more elective sessions than I remember in the past. The core municipal classes are still available, but I'm looking forward to new municpal training and education this week.

Here is a sneak peak of my schedule for today.

The Laurel Historical Society will be hosting its 2026 Garden Tour on June 13th. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the gardens our neighbors have created and gathering ideas for my own yard.
