🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – CHARLIE WARD ROAD 🚧
Heads up, Beat 1 residents and motorists!
Beginning Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., Charlie Ward Road will be closed to through traffic while crews replace a cross pipe. The road will remain closed until the project is complete.
🏡 Resident Access Only:
Residents must use the following route while work is underway:
➡️ Rocky Road → Adams Lane → Sharon Road
🚗 Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
⚠️ For everyone's safety, please slow down!
The alternate route is a residential area with children, families, and livestock. Speeding will not be tolerated. Please follow all traffic control instructions and use caution while traveling through the area.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these important improvements to the infrastructure in Beat 1. Thank you for helping us keep our roads—and our community—safe.

Heads up, Jones County Beat 1 residents and motorists!

PUBLIC NOTICE – UPDATED 06/15/2026

The Jones County Beat 1 Road Department would like to inform residents and the traveling public that Charlie Ward Road will be closed beginning Monday, June 22, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. while crews replace a cross pipe. The road will remain closed until the project is completed.

🚗 Resident Access Route:
During this closure, residents will only be able to enter and exit the area by using the following detour route:

Rocky Road → Adams Lane → Sharon Road

This detour route will ONLY be available while crews are present, and Charlie Ward Road is closed. Once construction is complete, Adams Lane (a private drive) is no longer accessible for the general public.

We understand that this temporary closure may cause inconvenience and ask for your patience and cooperation as we complete these necessary improvements.

Thank you for your understanding as we continue working to improve the roads and infrastructure throughout Jones County Beat 1.

🚗 Resident Access Route:
Residents will only be able to enter and/or exit using:
Rocky Road → Adams Lane → Sharon Road

Route is ONLY available while crews are working. Once work is complete resume normal usage of Charlie Ward Road.

Please plan accordingly and allow extra travel time.

Heads up, Jones County residents and travelers:

Jones County Beat 1 will be asphalting SHARON-MOSS ROAD on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Traffic will be slowed and delays are expected throughout the day while crews complete the work. Please use caution when traveling in the area, allow extra travel time, and be patient as we work to make improvements to our roads.

Please help spread the word to anyone who may travel through the area.

Attention: Please be aware of a paving operation currently active in our area. These individuals are going door-to-door offering "discounted" driveway paving and repairs and claim they are using asphalt and materials from the County. They also claim they are contractors hired by the County. THIS IS FALSE INFORMATION!
