Today, we pause to remember Deputy William Eugene Jones, whose End of Watch was September 23, 1982.

Deputy Jones lost his life in an automobile accident while involved in a vehicle pursuit. More than four decades later, his service and sacrifice have not been forgotten. We honor his memory, his commitment to serving Laurens County, and the family who carries his legacy.

Remembering one of our local heroes today.

Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one's life for his friends - John 15:13

Fifteen years have passed, but true sacrifice is never forgotten.

Today, we pause to honor the life and legacy of Deputy Roger Rice, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty on July 14, 2011.

His courage, dedication, and selfless service to the citizens of Laurens County continue to inspire those who wear the badge today. While time moves forward, our gratitude and remembrance remain steadfast.

We ask that you join us in keeping Deputy Rice’s family, friends, and fellow deputies in your thoughts and prayers as we reflect on the price he paid in service to others.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13
