Happy Friday from Laurens County! ☀️

What a difference one month makes. From a graded site to a building taking shape, it's amazing to see the rapid progress on Aptiv's new facility at Connexial Center. It's always so exciting to watch another major investment take shape and see the teamwork behind every milestone.

On Monday, Laurens County served as the sixth stop of the Business & Menus program developed by the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce's Upper Savannah Regional Workforce office. Now in its second year, the program connects educators with local industries and the food and beverage sector to strengthen workforce awareness and career opportunities in communities across the state.

The day began with an insightful tour of Nordson in Clinton, where educators from across the Upper Savannah region—including Laurens County School Districts 55 & 56—got a firsthand look at the advanced manufacturing processes that help drive our region's economy.

The group then visited Great Crêpes & More in Laurens for a delicious lunch and learning session, where Kaleefa and team shared their role in the food and beverage industry and the impact they make in our community.

LCDC is proud to support programs like this that help connect classroom learning with real-world careers in manufacturing, agriculture, real estate, hospitality, and beyond. Laurens District 55 Laurens County School District 56

We were proud to partner with the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce and S²TEM Centers SC to host Hire Summit: Laurens yesterday. The event connected local employers with high school seniors ready to enter the workforce, offering on-the-spot resume sharing and interviews.

Students came prepared, and employers across manufacturing, government, healthcare, construction, and more had the chance to meet their future workforce—strengthening Laurens County’s talent pipeline.
