Truly inspiring words from Vice Mayor Kesha Hodge Washington at Laveen's Community Engagement event this morning. To paraphrase: kids should never have to wonder which adults are there to support them, because every adult can and should be. A great reminder that we can all impact and support the future generation in our own spheres.

It's official: I will be serving on the Laveen Governing Board for another term! The last 4 years have been an honor and I look forward to 4 more!

(Because the number of candidates matched the number of available seats, candidates will not appear on the ballot, but will take office in January as if elected.)

Re-election update: the Governing Board race is “non-competitive” for November. As a result, the County is expected to cancel the election and appoint the candidates who completed the filing process.

In other words, I won’t be campaigning because I am unopposed. I am excited and grateful for another 4 years of serving our community!

Laveen Traditional Academy is going strong with the masonry topped out now. Thanks to the crew for giving the Laveen Elementary School District Governing Board a tour today—this is going to be a gorgeous campus!
