Lavonia Police Department

10/22/2026

Earlier this week, we had some very special visitors at the Lavonia Police Department!

Members of Girl Scout Troop 12821 stopped by to donate 20 Birthday Kits to help local families who may be facing financial hardships.

In honor of Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low, these young ladies collected supplies and assembled birthday cake kits with one simple goal: to make sure more children have the opportunity to celebrate their special day. 🎂

For families facing difficult times, something as simple as a birthday cake can mean the world.

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to Girl Scout Troop 12821 for their kindness, generosity, and commitment to making a difference in our community!

Small acts of kindness can create some of the biggest smiles! 💚

Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, District 9 held their training meeting in Toccoa on 20OCT26. Afterwards, members were treated to a tour of the Currahee Military Museum and Camp Toccoa at Currahee where they learned of the historical significance that Toccoa played in WWII and in the Airborne Community.

So we were out this morning attempting to get a live view of the SpaceX rocket launch but all we found was a Dollar General. It popped up while we were there. We hope one of those South Georgia hunters didn’t shoot it down. Post your pics if you have them.
