CONGRATULATIONS, LAWRENCE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2026!

This evening, Mayor Brian A. DePeña and members of his staff had the honor of attending the 175th Graduation Ceremony of Lawrence High School, celebrating the accomplishments of approximately 790 graduates from the Class of 2026.

Joined by Superintendent Ralph L. Carrero, Head of School Victor Caraballo-Anderson, School Committee members, educators, elected officials, families, and friends, the Mayor proudly joined the Lawrence Public Schools community in recognizing this important milestone.

As keynote speaker, Mayor DePeña congratulated the graduates on their achievements and encouraged them to continue pursuing their goals with confidence, determination, and pride in all they have accomplished.

This year's graduating class included students who earned numerous scholarships, academic honors, athletic awards, and distinctions for excellence in leadership, citizenship, science, mathematics, English, music, and community involvement.

The City of Lawrence also proudly recognizes the 60 students who graduated with Distinction (GPA of 3.8 or higher) and the 42 students who graduated with Great Distinction (GPA of 4.1 or higher) which is an outstanding accomplishment that reflects years of hard work, perseverance, and academic excellence.

As Lawrence Public Schools continues to celebrate record-breaking graduating classes year after year, tonight's ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the bright future that lies ahead for our students and our community.

Mayor DePeña extends his sincere congratulations to every graduate, as well as their families, teachers, administrators, and supporters who helped make this achievement possible.

CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENT, OPPORTUNITY, AND SUCCESS

This evening, Mayor Brian A. DePeña and members of his staff attended the Lawrence Prospera Year End Celebration, joining students, educators, community leaders, families, and supporters in recognizing a year of achievement and growth.

The Mayor was pleased to be joined by District C City Councilor Gregory Del Rosario as Lawrence Prospera celebrated the accomplishments of participants in the YouthBuild Lawrence HiSET Program, as well as students who earned ServSafe and OSHA certifications and other important milestones throughout the year.

These achievements represent more than certificates and credentials they also reflect determination, perseverance, personal growth, and a commitment to building brighter futures. Programs like Lawrence Prospera help empower young people with the education, skills, and opportunities needed to succeed in school, the workforce, and beyond.

Mayor DePeña congratulates all graduates, certificate recipients, and program participants on their accomplishments and extends his appreciation to the leadership, staff, educators, mentors, and supporters who make this important work possible.

The City of Lawrence is proud to celebrate the success of our young people and remains committed to supporting programs that help residents reach their full potential.

Esta noche, el alcalde Brian A. DePeña y miembros de su equipo asistieron a la Celebración de Fin de Año de Lawrence Prospera, acompañando a estudiantes, educadores, líderes comunitarios, familiares y colaboradores para reconocer un año de logros y crecimiento.

El alcalde tuvo el agrado de estar acompañado por el concejal del Distrito C, Gregory Del Rosario, mientras Lawrence Prospera celebraba los logros de los participantes del programa YouthBuild Lawrence HiSET, así como de los estudiantes que obtuvieron certificaciones ServSafe y OSHA, además de otros importantes logros alcanzados durante el año.

This evening, Mayor Brian A. DePeña and members of his staff had the honor of attending the Greater Lawrence Technical School (GLTS) Commencement Ceremony in celebration of the Class of 2026.

Joined by State Representatives Frank Moran and Estela Reyes, fellow elected officials, Superintendent-Director John N. Lavoie, Principal Chet Jackson, educators, families, and friends, the Mayor was proud to recognize the achievements of an outstanding graduating class whose hard work, perseverance, and dedication have prepared them for bright futures ahead.

A special congratulations to Valedictorian Kellsey Lynch and Salutatorian Kayla Lynch, whose academic accomplishments reflect excellence, leadership, and determination. Their achievements are made even more remarkable as twin sisters who reached this milestone together.

Tonight's ceremony celebrated not only academic success, but also the countless hours of effort, growth, and commitment demonstrated by every member of the Class of 2026. Whether pursuing higher education, entering the workforce, serving in the military, or following another path, these graduates leave GLTS equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed.

The City of Lawrence also extends its sincere gratitude to the teachers, staff, administrators, and families whose support and encouragement helped make this achievement possible.

CELEBRATING COMMUNITY THROUGH SPORTS

Last night as well, Mayor Brian A. DePeña and members of his team attended the Lawrence Athletico Tournament, joining players, families, coaches, and supporters for an evening that celebrated sportsmanship, teamwork, and community pride.

The Mayor was honored to throw out the ceremonial first ball to officially kick off the tournament and was pleased to be joined by District B City Councilor Rosaly Gonzalez in supporting this exciting community event.

Events like the Lawrence Athletico Tournament provide young athletes with opportunities to develop their skills, build lasting friendships, and demonstrate the values of dedication, discipline, and teamwork both on and off the field.

Mayor DePeña congratulates all participating teams and extends his appreciation to the organizers, volunteers, coaches, families, and supporters whose efforts help make this tournament a success year after year.

ELEBRANDO LA COMUNIDAD A TRAVÉS DEL DEPORTE

Anoche tambien, el alcalde Brian A. DePeña y miembros de su equipo asistieron al Torneo de Lawrence Athletico, acompañando a jugadores, familias, entrenadores y seguidores en una jornada que celebró el espíritu deportivo, el trabajo en equipo y el orgullo comunitario.

El alcalde tuvo el honor de realizar el saque ceremonial inicial para dar comienzo oficialmente al torneo y se complació en estar acompañado por la concejal del Distrito B, Rosaly Gonzalez, en apoyo a este emocionante evento comunitario.

Eventos como el Torneo de Lawrence Athletico brindan a los jóvenes atletas oportunidades para desarrollar sus habilidades, crear amistades duraderas y demostrar los valores de dedicación, disciplina y trabajo en equipo dentro y fuera del terreno de juego.

HONORING A LEGACY OF SERVICE

Last night, Mayor Brian A. DePeña and members of his team attended the Lawrence School Committee meeting to recognize and celebrate the many dedicated Lawrence Public Schools employees who are retiring this year.

Joined by the Superintendent, School Committee members, educators, and families, the Mayor had the opportunity to honor a remarkable group of retirees whose years of service have made a lasting impact on generations of Lawrence students.

From principals, teachers, paraprofessionals, nurses, cafeteria staff, and custodians to the many professionals who work behind the scenes each day, these individuals have helped shape the future of our community through their dedication, compassion, and commitment to education.

Mayor DePeña extends his heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to all retirees for their years of service to Lawrence Public Schools and wishes them a healthy, happy, and well-deserved retirement.

Anoche, el alcalde Brian A. DePeña y miembros de su equipo asistieron a la reunión del Comité Escolar de Lawrence para reconocer y celebrar a los numerosos empleados de las Escuelas Públicas de Lawrence que se jubilan este año.

Yesterday afternoon, Mayor Brian A. DePeña, along with his staff attended the relocation and blessing of the Cross at Mary Immaculate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, joining Bishop Hennessey, clergy, residents, staff, and community members for this meaningful occasion.

More than a ceremonial event, the gathering celebrated the values the Cross represents for so many throughout our community, such as hope, caring, love, and resilience. These values continue to inspire and strengthen individuals, families, caregivers, and residents across the Greater Merrimack Valley.

Mayor DePeña was honored to participate in this special milestone and extends his sincere appreciation to Bishop Hennessey, the Knights of Malta, the leadership and staff of Mary Immaculate, and all those whose efforts helped make the ceremony possible.

The City of Lawrence congratulates Mary Immaculate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on this meaningful celebration and thanks the organization for its longstanding commitment to providing compassionate care and service to our community.

Ayer por la tarde, el alcalde Brian A. DePeña y su equipo asistió a la reubicación y bendición de la Cruz en Mary Immaculate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, junto al Obispo Hennessey, miembros del clero, residentes, personal y miembros de la comunidad para esta significativa ocasión.

Más que una ceremonia, el evento celebró los valores que la Cruz representa para muchas personas en nuestra comunidad, tales como la esperanza, el cuidado al prójimo, el amor y la resiliencia. Estos valores continúan inspirando y fortaleciendo a individuos, familias, cuidadores y residentes en todo del Merrimack Valley.

COMMUNITY IN ACTION

This afternoon, Mayor Brian A. DePeña joined members of the Lawrence Police Department, including Police Chief Maurice Aguiler, for the monthly lunch service at Lazarus House in Lawrence.

Invited by the Lawrence Police Department, the Mayor had the opportunity to work alongside officers and the dedicated team at Lazarus House to help serve meals and connect with members of our community.

Mayor DePeña and Chief Aguiler rolled up their sleeves and assisted in the kitchen, helping prepare and serve lunch while supporting the important work that Lazarus House does each day for individuals and families in need.

The City of Lawrence is grateful to Lazarus House for its continued commitment to serving our community and to the Lawrence Police Department for fostering opportunities to give back through service.

Working together through acts of service helps strengthen the connections that make Lawrence such a caring and resilient community.
