It’s tough to find words to describe the magnitude of this loss. Jimmy Mac was not only a firefighter, but a friend, a mentor, and the definition of a labor leader. He fought occupational cancer with courage and strength until the very end. Our thoughts are with his friends, family, and loved ones as the fire service mourns the loss of such a true pillar of the profession.
Rest in peace, brother.

We would like to congratulate Dan Sullivan and Barney Trainor on their promotions to Lieutenant and Captain, respectively.
Both of these gentlemen exemplify the very best of our rank and file and represent what it means to be a true fireman’s fireman. We are proud to see them recognized for their dedication, leadership, and service to our department and community.
May 2, 2026 - 2 Alarm Structure Fire
264 Jackson Street
0828 Hours
IC: Deputy McInnis
Companies arrived on scene to find a large three-decker with heavy smoke and fire showing. A second alarm was quickly struck, bringing additional resources to the scene. Companies quickly stretched hose lines, conducted searches, and performed vertical ventilation despite high-heat conditions on the fire floor. Due to an aggressive initial attack, the fire was quickly brought under control.
Multiple residents have been displaced, and are being assisted by various organizations.
We would like to thank our mutual aid partners as always for help on both the fire ground, and for providing station coverage.
