🚒❤️ EDUCATION, PREVENTION, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP IN ACTION! ❤️🚒

The Lawrence Fire Department was proud to team up with City Health nurses and their interns from Northeastern University for an exciting and educational visit with approximately 100 enthusiastic fifth-grade students at the Leahy School!

This special program brought together fire safety education and health awareness, giving our students valuable information and practical knowledge to help keep themselves, their families, and their community safe.

Our fifth-grade friends came prepared with plenty of great questions, curiosity, and enthusiasm! One of the highlights of the visit was when the students selected one of their teachers to try on firefighter gear. It was a fun, hands-on experience that gave everyone a better appreciation for the equipment our firefighters wear to protect our community. 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

👏 Strong community partnerships make a difference! The Lawrence Fire Department is proud of its continued partnership with Inspectional Services, Lawrence Public Schools, and our community health partners. Working together allows us to reach our young people with important lessons in fire prevention, personal safety, and healthy living.

Investing in our children through education today helps build a safer, healthier Lawrence tomorrow!

🚒❤️ WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN LAWRENCE! ❤️🚒

The Lawrence Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Month Open House was an incredible day filled with smiles, laughter, excitement, and community spirit! 🎉🔥

We loved opening our doors at Central Fire Station and welcoming so many families, children, and community members into our firehouse. Seeing the excitement on the kids’ faces as they explored the trucks, learned about fire safety, enjoyed the activities, and spent time with our firefighters made this day truly special. Those smiles reminded us exactly why we love serving this community! ❤️

From our smoke house and family activities to getting up close and personal with our fire apparatus, there was something for everyone to enjoy. And Smokey was a HUGE hit with the music! 🎶🐻 He helped keep the energy going and made an already great day even more memorable!

👏 A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS!

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Retired Lawrence Fire Lieutenant John “Jack” M. Lannon Jr., a longtime member of the Lawrence Fire Department who proudly served the City of Lawrence for 28 years.

Jack was a proud member of the Lawrence Fire family and will be remembered as a great guy who cared deeply about the department, his fellow firefighters, and the community he served. His legacy of service is also reflected in the loving family he leaves behind, including his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

On behalf of the entire Lawrence Fire Department, I extend our deepest condolences to the Lannon family. Jack will always hold a special place in our department’s history and in the hearts of those who knew him.

Rest easy, Lieutenant Lannon. Thank you for your service, your dedication, and your love for the Lawrence Fire Department and the City of Lawrence.

You will be missed, remembered, and never forgotten.

Today, we were honored to welcome members of the Lawrence Senior Center as they stopped by the firehouse during their Breast Cancer Awareness Walk.

It was wonderful to see our community come together for such an important cause and to share a few smiles, conversations, and words of encouragement along the way.

🇺🇸 Honoring the Legacy of Captain Kevin J. Ord 🇺🇸

On behalf of the Lawrence Fire Department, I want to sincerely thank everyone who came out today to help us honor the life, service, and legacy of Captain Kevin J. Ord.

A special thank you to City Councilor Marc LePlante for his partnership in making this dedication possible and for helping ensure that Captain Ord’s contributions to the City of Lawrence are remembered.

Thank you to the men and women of the Lawrence Fire Department, our retired firefighters, and all of the members of our fire service family who came out to pay their respects. Your presence meant a great deal.

Most importantly, thank you to the Ord family for allowing us to share this special moment with you and for allowing the Lawrence Fire Department and our community to celebrate Kevin’s life and service. We are honored to stand with you.

I would also like to thank Yadira, our veterans, city officials, friends, neighbors, and everyone who took the time to attend, participate, and support this very special dedication.

Today was about much more than placing a sign at an intersection. It was about remembering a United States Navy veteran, a Lawrence firefighter, an arson investigator, a colleague, a friend, and a member of the Lawrence community who dedicated his life to serving others.

Captain Ord’s name will now have a permanent place in the City he served, but his greatest legacy will always be the people he touched, the firefighters he worked alongside, and the example of service he left behind.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a meaningful and memorable dedication.

🇺🇸 LAWRENCE HOMETOWN HEROES 5K — A GREAT DAY FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Today, the Lawrence Fire Department was proud to support and participate in the Lawrence Hometown Heroes 5K, honoring the lives and service of Lieutenant Charles M. Saindon of the Lawrence Police Department and Sergeant Ian G. Taylor of the Billerica Police Department.

It was our honor to once again stand alongside our brothers and sisters of the Lawrence Police Department—and to raise the American flag high over the course using Lawrence Fire Ladder 5. 🇺🇸🚒

The Lawrence Police Department has always stood behind the Lawrence Fire Department, and today was another great example of the strong partnership, friendship, and mutual respect that exists between our two departments. We are proud to return that support whenever we can.

Events like this remind us that being a first responder is about more than the calls we answer. It is about community, remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice, supporting one another, and never forgetting the families and communities we serve.

A special thank you to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, supported, and helped make this such a meaningful event.

And a special thank you to Ski, retired Lawrence firefighter, for keeping the celebration going with great music after the race! 🎶

🇺🇸 Lawrence Fire & Lawrence Police — Always Supporting Our Community.

Lawrence Fire Chief Patrick Delaney, together with City Councilor Marc LePlante, invites Lawrence firefighters, retirees, family, friends, veterans, and members of our Lawrence community to join us for a very special dedication honoring the life and service of Captain Kevin J. Ord.

Captain Ord proudly served our country as a United States Navy veteran and served the City of Lawrence as a firefighter and arson investigator.

In 1992, Lawrence experienced an unprecedented wave of arson fires, with 137 arson fires reported during the first five months of the year. The Lawrence Arson Task Force was formed in response. During its most active period, the task force made 26 arrests.

Captain Ord was at the tip of the spear, conducting hundreds of fire investigations as an arson investigator with the task force. His dedication, experience, and commitment to uncovering the truth behind these fires made a lasting impact on the Lawrence Fire Department and the community he served.

As fellow firefighter William Pierce recalled, when it came to fire investigations, “he was considered one of the best.”

This dedication is more than the naming of a square. It is an opportunity for the Lawrence Fire Department and our community to remember a firefighter, a veteran, a public servant, and a member of the Lawrence family whose service deserves to be remembered for generations to come.

Thank you for standing behind your firefighters.
This community is more than the place where we work.
It is our home.
It is where our neighbors count on one another.
When a call comes in, our firefighters do not ask who needs help.
They do not ask where someone came from, what they believe, or whether
they know them.
They hear the call.
They get on the apparatus.
And they go.
Because every person in Lawrence matters.
This community is our responsibility...and it is our privilege to protect it.
To our community leaders and elected officials:
Your support of public safety matters.
And your presence here today matters.
Because public safety is not only about buildings, apparatus, budgets, or
equipment.
It is about people.
And it is about the community we have sworn to protect.
So what does Never Forget mean to us today?
I believe it is simple.
We honor them by how we do this job.

🚒🍋 A Sweet Break in the Middle of a Busy Saturday! 🍋🚒

Even on a busy Saturday afternoon, there’s always time to stop and support the youngest members of our Lawrence community!

Lawrence Fire Squad 1 and Ladder 5 took a quick break today to visit a young Lawrence girl’s lemonade stand on Bruce Street. The crews enjoyed some refreshing lemonade—and, more importantly, the opportunity to support a young entrepreneur right here in our city. ❤️

Moments like these are what make being part of the Lawrence community so special.

Keep pouring that lemonade and chasing those dreams! 🍋💪
