Almighty God, there is much on our hearts this morning, that we are praying about and believing that You will answer. Lord our desire is to do Your will, but often times it appears as thou our efforts are fruitless and void of true purpose and direction. So our prayer this day, O God, is that You would save us from any confusion or doubt about our assignment in Life and what we should be doing to best fulfill our predetermined destiny. Search us, O God, and know our hearts; try us, and know our thoughts, and lead us in the way that You would have us to go. Grant us, dear God, as we enter into this new year, that there be no room in our souls for doubt, and if there is something that we need to do, see, or take action on, reveal it to us through a clear, distinct and deliberate vision, so that we may go about it with a sense of urgency. Lead us by Your Spirit, O God, and guide us along the path that You have set before us. Help us to be cautious and careful, that our own neglect and carelessness may not cause the loss of our faith, but keep us ever trustful as we look to the great God of our Salvation to guide us over the uncertain way. Lord we are ready and willing, and by Your spirit, fully capable to fulfill Your purpose for our lives. In JESUS name!

Almighty God, who opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble, we come near to Your throne of grace this day and we bless You for our lives, and give You praise for Your abundant mercy and grace towards us. Lord we know that when we pray, You hear and are able to grant us our petitions. So shall we pray this day, with assurance, first for our world, and for all those in need of Your grace but reluctant to receive it. We pray for those who have failed; as people, as professionals, in relationships and at work; and for all who carry the wounds of failure and humiliation. Then Lord, we pray for ourselves, wanting to be humble, but closing our ears to those who bring us discomfort. Refusing to hear those who bring Your challenge for us to change our minds, to change our habits, to change our lives. O God, teach us to listen and encourage us to be transformed by Your living presence. Lord, oppose us when we are proud, and grant us your grace when we are humbled. May the glorious light of Your Gospel reach into the darkest corners of our world and our lives, and open the eyes of our hearts, that we, might embody Your compassion, Your healing power, and Your self-giving love. In the matchless name of Jesus the Christ, we do pray and declare it all. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You for another day and the mercy that meets us this morning. Before we carry the needs of others, we bare our own hearts before You. By Your Spirit, reveal what honors You and what must be burned away like chaff. Purge us of pride and clothe us with humility as we confess our need for cleansing. Let Your Word reach the places in us that need healing and change. Give us pure, undivided hearts that we may fear Your name and serve You faithfully. More of You, Lord, and less of us is our prayer. Quiet our anxious thoughts. Give us wisdom for what requires a decision, strength for what requires endurance, and faith to place in Your hands what we cannot control. When we are weak, teach us to depend upon Your strength. Lord, we desire to love You above everything and everyone, and to serve You with our whole hearts, our strength, and our minds. You are the source of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Make our hearts willing to receive Your instruction and our feet ready to follow it. Help us practice what we preach. Lord, Your favor means more than the approval of others, so keep us true to Your principles, and help us reject whatever contradicts or diminishes Your truth. Renew our minds, O God, so that our thoughts, choices, and actions reflect Your Word. Teach us to walk in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Your Kingdom. Bless our families and the people You have entrusted to our care. Draw near to those who feel forgotten, strengthen those who are weary, and help us recognize and respond to their needs with compassion. As we serve You today, keep us from rushing past Your presence. Guide our words, shape our responses, and let Your love be evident in how we treat people. May all we do bring honor to Your name. In JESUS name!

Almighty God, grant us this day that we, communing with one another and with You, may feel our hearts burn within us, until all pure, and just, and holy, and noble things of God and man may be to us lovely, and we may find nothing to fear but that which is despised in Your eyes, and nothing worth seeking but that which is lovely and fair therein. Let Your peace possess our souls, so that, fearing neither life nor death, we may look to Your lovingkindness and Your tender mercy to lift us above that which is not of You, and at last to surrender to the spirit which is within us. Lord, by Your word, You have declared that, "Eyes have not seen, nor ears heard, Nor have entered into the hearts of man, the things which You have prepared for those who love You." O God, we desire to be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Fill us, by Your Spirit, O God, and reveal to us the things that You have freely given to us, that we may not only know them, but be led by them; and move and operate in them, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. Then shall we, who have been bought with a price, may therefore glorify You in our bodies, and in our spirit, which belong to You. In JESUS name!

Almighty God, who alone has given us the breath of life, and alone can keep our hearts filled with Your holy desires: Lord we pray this day, trusting in Your infinite compassion and wisdom, to rid us of any fear and anxiety. Dear God, we pray for peace in the hearts of those who may be tormented by their circumstances this morning, and bound by the fear of what might happen. Help us to know with assurance, O God, that You did not give us a spirit of fear; but of Power, Love, and of a Sound mind; and that when we allow ourselves to be overcome by our fears, the enemy is able to weaken our hands from the work that You have called us and purposed us to do. Strengthen our Hands this day, O God, and grant us the tools necessary to lighten our heavy hearts and free ourselves of stress and worry; for those things we put on ourselves only serve to distract us from the things of You. Help us to see You and not our problems; and even if we should, for a while, remain in the storm, we will see You and Be Still and Know that You are GOD! In JESUS name!

Almighty God, as we have made our way to Your throne of grace, so shall we now stand before you, our God, and wait, and hope, and long for you to act. We shall stand before you with fear and doubt, with concern, with hope, with disbelief, with despair; but in this time, and in this place, we nevertheless have decided that no matter what, we will Stand and we will Pray! So Lord we pray this day for leaders, for all entrusted with decisions that affect others. For those with the power to change the world for better or worse, we pray that the hope of new life will reach into the corridors of power. We pray for those who may be trapped in cycles of poverty, hunger and suffering. Lord allow the hope of new life to reach into the forgotten agonies of those without hope; for those whose future promises no life, and whose past gives little reason for hope. Lord GOD, we pray for those concerned about their health today, about their mortality, consumed with the pressures of both body and mind. May the promise of new life reach deep into the lives of those who live in fear. As your people, O God, we stand before you today and we wait, and we hope, and we long for you to act. In JESUS name!

Almighty God, we pray your strength, this day, to overcome our fear and weakness. Help us, O Lord, to overcome discouragements, and conquer unworthiness, that we may be spared the needless battles that are brought on through impatience and selfishness. Lord we believe in Your word towards us; for You are not slack concerning Your promise, as some men count slackness; but You are longsuffering and faithful to the Beloved. You have never failed even one word of Your good promises, but have, in every situation, guided us by Your spirit and filled us with courage! Now bring to our hearts and minds the important things which are needed in preparing life. Help us to use the strength that is given to us for to-day, to let go of yesterday and it’s regrets; relinquish all resentments; and give You our pain. We relish in this present quiet moment, as we wait upon You. Therefore, bless us Lord with the patience needed to wait; the peace to not be moved while we do so, and the hope that will never leave us ashamed as we look to You for everything we need for life and godliness in this present age. In JESUS name!
