🚸 SCHOOL ZONE REMINDER – TYRONE STREET BY TCU 🚸

The Le Center Police Department reminds all motorists that Tyrone Street near TCU School is a designated school zone. The posted speed limit is 15 MPH when children are present.

To help increase driver awareness and improve student safety, the City of Le Center has installed additional school zone signage and placed flags on both the new signs and existing signs to make them more visible to approaching motorists.

Please slow down, watch for children, and remain alert for students walking, biking, or crossing the roadway. Children can be unpredictable, and a few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference.

Please help us keep our students safe! Slow down, obey the posted speed limit, and use extra caution when traveling through the school zone.

On 10-20-26, an Android phone that was found by Casey's General Store in Le Center was turned into the Le Center Police Dept.

The phone appears to be a 911 only phone as no number is associated when emergency communication feature is activated.

If you or someone you know lost their phone, please contact the Le Center Police Dept. to identify and claim it.

This bicycle was reported as abandoned at Casey’s in Le Center. The bicycle was picked up by the Le Center Police Department and is currently being held at the Police Department.

If you are the owner, or know who the owner is, please contact the Le Center Police Department @ 507-357-4888 to arrange to claim your property.

Please help us reunite this bike with its owner.

Just a quick Reminder from the Le Center Police Dept.

🚲 Heading to the fair on your bike? Due to a recent report of a bike theft while attending the fair, we want to remind everyone to lock their bikes anytime they will be left unattended.

Taking a few extra seconds to secure your bike can help prevent theft and ensure it’s still there when you’re ready to head home., Take extra precaution with electric bikes, and please leave electric scooters at home while at the fair!

Also, remember to lock and secure your vehicle anytime you park. Avoid leaving purses, wallets, electronics, cash, or other valuables in plain view. If possible, take valuable items with you or secure them out of sight before arriving at your destination. A few simple precautions can go a long way in helping prevent theft.

An article of jewelry was recently found in the downtown area and turned in to the Le Center Police Department.

The item appears to be new and is still in its original packaging.

Street Sealcoating Notice – Wednesday, August 5

Dear Residents,

The City of Le Center asks for your cooperation as Pearson Bros., Inc. will be sealcoating the streets highlighted in BLUE on the attached map.

Weather permitting, work is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5.

Please note:
No Parking signs will be placed along the affected streets the day before the project begins.
Please do not park on the street during the posted times so crews can complete the work safely and efficiently.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community and everyone who shared this post, the missing items have been returned.

Your willingness to share the information made all the difference. Without your assistance, these items may never have been located.

Thank you again for looking out for one another and helping make our community such a great place!

Community Assistance Requested

We're asking for the community's help with locating several items that went missing on Monday, 07-13-26, between approximately 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. from the boulevard on East Sharon Street.

A contractor working at a residence temporarily placed several items in the boulevard while completing work inside the home. When the workers returned outside, the items were gone.

The missing items include:

A large Milwaukee cooler
Two ammo-style cans containing PVC fittings
A Husky brand 10 compartment organizer with fittings inside
PVC pipe

We believe it's possible that someone mistakenly thought these items had been placed out for free due to where they were sitting. If that was the case, there are no hard feelings—they simply ask that the items be returned. The items were personalized with white Polka Dots for quick recognition on the job site making them easy to identify if you see them.

If you picked up these items or know where they may be, please contact the Le Center Police Department @ 507-357-4888 or simply drop them off at the Police Department located at 200 E. Bowler St.

We are working to obtain doorbell camera footage from the area, but we're hopeful the items can be returned without any further investigation.

If you recognize this pup, call 507-357-4888. It’s in the Le Center Police Department dog pound. It was picked up on North Cordova Ave on July 3rd has a brown and tan collar on.

Please help us find the owner to reunite them.

At the Le Center Police Department, we believe a strong community begins with a commitment to public safety. We are grateful to receive a Community Safety Grant from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation to assist with replacing AED pads and batteries. This funding supports our ongoing efforts to ensure that Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) located in City-owned emergency vehicles and public buildings remain ready for use when every second counts. By helping maintain this lifesaving equipment, the grant contributes to a safer community for all who live, work, and visit Le Center.
