They have worked tirelessly to make sure that the behind-the-scenes chores of running a school farm is easy for this Ag Teacher. Not only did they help this year, they have be a constant since 2013. FFA members in the Vet Science class were able to put their skills to work processing cattle on Friday, September 25. We appreciate Mr. Dennis and Dr. Kelley DeBar in allowing us assist them at their farm. The students gained experience in sorting, tagging, vaccinating and banding cattle. Thanks to Mr. Bernie Dearman, also. He left before we took the pic.

On July 24, 2026, GC FFA held a Chapter Officer Retreat at the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Moss Point, MS. The students started the day with a kayak trip along the salt marshes of Bayou Heron. The students participated in other natural resources and FFA leadership activities. Last year's Chapter President, Sophey Errington, gave a reflection of her recent experience at the Washington Lesdership Conference that was held in Washington, D.C. We finished the day with some fine seafood at Catalina's Restaurant.
