COMMENDED STUDENTS IN THE 2027 NATIONAL MERIT® SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Ms. Loy announced today that Evelyn A. and William P. have been named a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®), which conducts the program, has been presented to these scholastically talented seniors.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2027 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2027 competition by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).

"Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," commented a spokesperson for NMSC. ''These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success."

It's National Security Officer Appreciation Week!
👮
Today our Assistant Headmaster/Director of Operations Nathan McClallen presented Officer Hartsfield with a Certificate of Appreciation. We thank Officer Hartsfield for his dedication and hard work for our school and students.
💙
We’d love for our school community to help us show him how much we appreciate all he does to help keep our students and staff safe. We invite your children to write a note, draw a picture, or simply share a few kind words of thanks. If your family would also like to show appreciation with a gift card, that is certainly welcome, but please know that a thoughtful note or kind message is just as meaningful.
Let’s fill Officer Hartsfield's week with gratitude and remind him how valued he is to our school community!

This morning, we gathered for a solemn remembrance ceremony honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the brave first responders who ran toward danger to serve and protect others. Twenty-five years later, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives taken, the families forever changed, and the courage and sacrifice displayed that day.

As a classical school, we believe that remembrance is an important part of forming young people who understand courage, service, sacrifice, and gratitude. Today, our students, staff, and community members had the opportunity to pause, reflect, and honor those who gave so much for others.

As a special expression of gratitude, our Floral Design class created and presented a wreath to our local Leander Fire Department, honoring the firefighters and first responders who continue to serve and protect our community. It was a meaningful opportunity for our students to put gratitude into action and thank those who so faithfully serve others.

We will remember.
We will honor.
We will never forget.

May we always remember September 11, 2001, and those who showed extraordinary courage in the face of tragedy.
