Leander Fire, Leander PD, Liberty Hill Fire, Cedar Park Fire, and CapMetro came together for a joint training exercise focused on railway operations and emergency response.

The training included a simulated rail emergency, allowing participating agencies to practice coordinating their efforts and responding as a team. While incidents involving trains are uncommon, preparing for these situations helps ensure we’re ready when it matters most.

We appreciate all of our partner agencies for their collaboration and commitment to making this training possible.

Activity is expected in the area between 6 AM & 3 PM
Leander Fire & Police Departments in cooperation with Liberty Hill & Cedar Park will be conducting a training exercise with CapMetro near Metro Drive and US 183. The exercise will involve train operations and a simulated emergency incident.
If you see an increased presence of emergency vehicles, personnel, or temporary road signs, please follow the signs and any guidance given. This is all part of a planned training exercise, and there is no cause for concern.

Sunday, October 18th

Leander Fire Department and Leander Police Department will be conducting a training exercise with CapMetro near Metro Drive and US 183. The exercise will involve train operations and a simulated emergency incident.

The US National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio Texas has issued a Flood Watch for Williamson County, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m.

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are anticipated to develop Wednesday with a pacific cold front moving into the region Thursday spreading showers and thunderstorm throughout the area. Rainfall totals from Wednesday evening through Friday will be 2-4 inches with isolated amounts up to 8 inches possible.
