Okay, okay, let's see, we've got creepy, yes...kooky, yes...mysterious, that's a check...spooky, double check...now, positively ooky...oh, we're already set with that too? Great! Looks like everything's in place for tomorrow at 6:00pm when we screen The Addams Family!

Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston, Christina Ricci, and of course the incomparable Christopher Lloyd starring make it no wonder this movie has become a beloved classic. Grab some popcorn and try not to die from laughing!

This screening will also serve as this month's ESL Movie Club and as such will be shown with subtitles.

The unfortunate news continues! We're having to cancel tomorrow morning's Babytime out of caution. We want everyone staying safe and healthy!

If you still want a nice environment to hang and play with your babies though, look no further than the Littles' Lounge inside the main library. We've converted the old classroom in the children's library into a dedicated toddler space, making it the perfect alternative to our regularly scheduled Babytime!

Our friends from Goodwill are back this Friday at 3:00 pm, this time to give us an introduction to AI prompting. If you use AI, your results can only ever be as good as the prompts you provide it, so we'll get the down low on how to write prompts that get us the best output we can!

If you don't have your own device to bring, Goodwill is able to provide some laptops for the class! Sign up to reserve yours here: https://tinyurl.com/gwclassai

We're starting out with a bang--a BIG BANG if you will--with our star party this week and ending with a whole host of activities including our AI Prompting 101 workshop (go to https://tinyurl.com/gwclassai if you need to reserve a laptop for use during the class) AND our October movie nights are converging with the ESL movie discussion club this month for a subtitled screening (discussion afterwards optional) of the 1991 creepy classic The Addams Family starring the great Raul Julia and Angelica Huston. This film is rated PG-13!

Do you feel that? There's a chill in the air, the atmosphere around here is getting a little but more haunted, and that means it's time once again for our annual library staff skeleton decorating contest!

Your library staff have really pulled out all the stops this year with some bone-chillingly crafty work. Stop by the library to vote for your favorite. Winner gets...probably just bragging rights, but as well all know, bragging rights are the sweetest prize of all.

Quick programming update for today: as a result of a staffing shortage, today's Homeschool Hangout is unfortunately cancelled. We're sorry! We'll hang next week!

Next Monday starting at 7:30pm we're celebrating the (extremely gradually) lowering temperatures with a night outside on the Mason Homestead lawn, gazing at the stars.

You can kick back, look for constellations, and contemplate the size of the universe. OR you could grab a closer look--our friends at the Williamson Country Astronomy Club will be joining that evening and allowing us to take a look through their telescopes! Even just the regular ol' moon through a telescope is a beautiful sight to behold, and hopefully we should be able to see some planets as well, including Saturn!

This event is weather-permitting, so if it's looking potentially spotty out keep an eye open and we'll let you know if the event will be rescheduled. Our Astronomical friends can teach us a little bit about the night's sky indoors on the day!

Don't forget! With the rescheduling of the Bluegrass Festival comes an early closure for the library. We'll be closing at 5pm on Friday and Saturday!

Don't forget! We'll be closed tomorrow AND at the end of the week on Friday and Saturday we'll be closing at 5:00 pm for the rescheduled Bluegrass Festival. We've also unfortunately had to cancel a few of our teen programs this week. We're sorry for this inconvenience!
