GCPC, sponsored by the Leavenworth County Historical Society, is working to preserve Greenwood Cemetery.

Greenwood Cemetery is on the Kansas and National Register of Historical Places.

Went out one more time for the season and did some more work in the black section of Greenwood Cemetery. Fixed the headstones of Emma, Randal and Mary Nash. - Ray

The annual Greenwood Cemetery History Walk is coming right up! The weather should be MUCH nicer, the Chiefs aren’t playing, and the presentations are ALWAYS interesting! Plus, you can get a first-hand look at all the preservation work that has been done this year. Admission will be collected at the gate..no advance ticket sales…and parking is street side as always. We look forward to seeing you!

UPDATE: Parks & Rec will be in Greenwood today and tomorrow to clear out a few dead trees. For safety reasons, there will be no volunteer activity during that time.

Here are a few pictures of storm damage at Greenwood from throughout the summer. Amazingly, no headstones were damaged! Thankfully, we have a wonderful team of volunteers who help clean this kind of mess up!
