Lebanon County Conservation District Conserving today's resources for tomorrow. Lebanon County Conservation District

The Lebanon County Conservation District was organized at the request of county citizens under the state's Conservation District Law to provide conservation of the soil, water, woodland and wildlife resources; to assist in watershed protection and flood prevention; to preserve the tax base; and to protect and promote the health and general welfare of the people of the county. Lebanon County Commissioners declared a Conservation District on May 23, 1949, in accordance with the provisions of the "Conservation District Law" of 1945, Act 217 of the Pennsylvania General Assembly. Under this law, the Lebanon County Conservation District may acquire real and personal property or the rights therein, and accept contributions with the consent and approval of the State Conservation Commission. Please contact the Lebanon County Conservation District to discuss any protocols related to a gift or donation.

Exciting news!

We are honored to be receiving a $120,000 grant from the HerZimBa Foundation to support conservation and agricultural preservation efforts in 2027.

The grant will help us:
- Preserve farmland through agricultural conservation easements
- Support real-time water quality and flood monitoring through the Swatara Creek Supergage
- Celebrate local farmers and promote conservation through our Lebanon County Conservation & Preservation Banquet

With more than 21,894 acres already preserved through 198 agricultural conservation easements, this investment will help us continue protecting Lebanon County’s farms, waterways, and natural resources.

We are incredibly grateful to the HerZimBa Foundation for supporting our mission and investing in the future of Lebanon County.

Join LCCD and Spring Hill Partners for a drop-in event on Thursday, September 17th from 4-6pm to learn more about a planned 20-acre floodplain restoration project along Conewago Creek, located within Pennsylvania State Game Lands 145.

The project provides an opportunity to see how restoring floodplain connectivity, improving stream function, and enhancing natural habitats can benefit both water quality and the broader watershed.

This event is being held as part of The Lebanon Valley Conservancy's Clean Water Week! To sign up or see the full list of Water Week events, visit https://lebanonvalleyconservancy.org/cleanwaterweek/
