The RCCTC Criminal Justice class had the privilege of welcoming Investigators Sherry Rhea and Corie Yates, along with Advocate Kathy Rhea from the Russell County Sheriff's Office. During their visit, they educated students on several important and sensitive topics, including domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and missing and exploited children.
Through their knowledge and professional experience, the presenters helped students better understand the seriousness of these issues, the importance of recognizing warning signs, and the role law enforcement and victim advocacy professionals play in protecting victims and supporting families. Students also gained valuable insight into the resources available to those affected by these crimes and the importance of prevention, awareness, and community involvement.
We are grateful to the Russell County Sheriff's Office and these dedicated professionals for taking the time to share their expertise and real-world perspectives with our students. Opportunities like this help prepare future criminal justice professionals while reinforcing the importance of compassion, public safety, and service to our community.
Thank you to Investigators Sherry Rhea and Corie Yates and Victim/Witness Advocate Kathy Rhea for investing in the education and future of our RCCTC Criminal Justice students!
