…unfortunately it’s not great news.

Last Friday, June 12th we closed The Village Play Place Academy doors.

This decision was not made lightly and only after MONTHS of trying every possible avenue we could trying to move to another location. It’s been an incredibly frustrating process and ultimately decisions out of our control led up to this.

Friday was a day of mixed emotions, tears watching kids leave our doors for the last time and saying goodbye to the Academy families.

We opened September 2024 as an indoor play area/coffee shop and never anticipated transitioning to a licensed childcare center - but we would do it again in a heartbeat.

We can’t expressly how grateful we are to our staff, the families that trusted us and seeing the GROWTH the kids made this time ❤️

If you enrolled your kids in the Academy or if you ever visited when we were the “play place,” THANK YOU for being part of our village and letting us be a part of yours!

Playtime is not just about having fun (although it certainly is!) — it’s about learning too!

When your child is playing by alone, they’re engaging themselves; using their creativity and imagination.

When your child plays with others, they’re practicing role playing (ex. being the “leader”), improvising favorite games with new rules and even learning how to better handle conflict.

We see these aspects of”play” out every day at The Village Play Place Academy! It’s especially fun to see in our PreK class.

At the Academy, play (whether it’s free play, child-led or teacher-led, inside or outside) is at our core!
