What a day at Wing Pointe! 🎯

Our 8th Annual Sporting Clays Fundraiser is in the books, and we are so grateful to every shooter, sponsor, donor, and volunteer who came out to support the Berks County Envirothon.

🏆 Winning Team: Congratulations to CMS (Construction Master Services): Mike Thompson, Jim McCarthy, Matt Thompson, and John Strict!

🥇 Top Female Shooter: Our very own Kate Vandal! We may be a little biased, but we couldn't be prouder.

💖 Team Spirit Award (unofficial): The BCCD "Backwoods Barbies," Alexis, Johnna, Jess, and Kate, who showed up ready to shoot in style.

Thank you for helping us invest in the next generation of conservation leaders. We hope to see you all again next year!

📜 We found it: an article from 1946 when they formed the Berks County Conservation District!

Tucked away in our office archives is the original records, organized August 13, 1946. Right alongside it, decades old newspaper clippings telling the story of how soil conservation took root here in Berks County.

👀 A little peek behind the scenes at BCCD!

As we celebrate our 80th anniversary this year, we can't help but reflect on how much our team has grown. Conservation work isn't all field boots and stream walks, sometimes it's a desk, a second monitor, and a whole lot of focus behind the scenes.

We are so thankful for all of our conservation superheroes and everything they do, day in and day out. 💚🌱

💧 It's Source Water Protection Week!

BCCD is proud to co-administer Berks County's Source Water Protection Program alongside PADEP, Reading Area Water Authority, and the Berks County Sewer and Water Association, the only County-wide program of its kind in Pennsylvania.

🌊 Our shared goal: keeping drinking water safe for approximately 275,000 residents by protecting the land surrounding our water sources.
