Over 20 residents came to hear the presentation on Leetsdale historical survey, funded by a Keystone planning grant.

Our project consultants, Teresa Duff of Lineage LLC and Angelique Bamberg of Clio Consulting, updated us on the project status, shared their data collection experience, and gave a preview of the upcoming recommendations. The full plan will be ready and published by the end of the year.

Thank you to our project team and all the history enthusiasts who attended the presentation, as well as special guests, Community Preservation Coordinator for the Western Region at the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission (PHMC) State Historic Preservation Office Duncan Trau, and PA State Rep. Valerie Gaydos. While we wait for the final project results, we are excited about how preserving our unique history will help shape a vibrant future for our borough.

Leetsdale Borough is honored to have been selected for the ARC READY Local Government training on how to apply for federal grants! Thank you very much to the Appalachian Regional Commission for this great learning opportunity. Over the next 9 weeks, the Council President and the Administrative Assistant will be in an online classroom setting, learning how to advance projects of urgent priority for the borough. This is hard work but we hope it will pay off!

Congratulations to the 60 local governments selected to participate in our READY Local Governments Training Program! ⬇️🎉

Each participating community will take part in nine weeks of virtual training designed to help local leaders better identify, manage and implement federally funded economic development projects.

After completing the training, participants will be eligible to apply for up to $50K in funding (no match required) for projects that will help them better meet local economic needs.

Borough Memories: Share Your Historical Photos

Help us preserve the rich history of our borough by sharing your treasured historical images!

From August 3 to September 11, we’re collecting photos that capture the people, places, events, and everyday life that have shaped our community over the years. Whether it’s a vintage street scene, a family gathering, an old business, or a long-forgotten landmark, your contributions will help build a lasting digital archive for future generations.

Upload your photos (and any stories that go with them) here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfYPl5SHOGE2c4OPGMyBB7EwDhNgZrrn7eUhnx6_nuNUSANhA/viewform

You can also bring your images to the borough office, and they will be scanned and returned back to you.

This work is part of the Historical Resource Survey, funded by a Keystone Planning Grant, currently in progress. Lineage LLC, our project consultants, are looking forward to the final presentation for the community in October.
