❤️🖤 EXCITING FALL BREAK UPDATES AT LEFLORE PUBLIC SCHOOL! ❤️🖤
Growing. Improving. Investing in Our Savages!
While our students and staff were enjoying a well deserved fall break, it was a BUSY time around LeFlore Public School! We took advantage of the break to wrap up several major projects, make some important improvements, and continue investing in the safety, facilities, and opportunities available to our students!
We are incredibly excited to share some of the things that have been accomplished!
🚀 THE LAUNCH PAD IS OFFICIALLY OPERATIONAL!
One of our biggest and most exciting projects is our brand new Life Skills Training Center, which we are calling THE LAUNCH PAD!
This facility is designed to provide our special education students with hands on opportunities to learn and practice essential life skills in a real world environment.
We now have a fully functioning kitchen with a stove, dishwasher, and dining area, a brand new washer and dryer, two bathrooms, a shower, comfortable living spaces with couches, and internet access throughout the building!
Everything inside is now hooked up, operational, and ready for our students! We still have a few finishing touches outside, including the accessibility ramp, but the inside is ready to go!
What makes this facility even more exciting is that it will serve multiple purposes. In addition to providing incredible learning opportunities for our students, it will also serve as a hospitality space for our basketball officials and guests during ball games and other school activities.
A building that teaches independence, builds confidence, and creates opportunities! That is something worth celebrating!
🚪 NEW DOORS ACROSS CAMPUS!
Safety continues to be one of our highest priorities, and we have made some major improvements to entrances throughout our campus!
We have installed new doors at several locations, including:
✅ Gymnasium: New glass and entrance doors! We went from four individual single doors to two sets of double doors, creating a much improved entrance to our gym.
✅ Agriculture Building: New entrance door.
✅ Bus Barn: New entrance door.
✅ Library: New doors at both the front and back entrances.
✅ Elementary Building: New doors at both the front and back entrances.
These improvements replace aging and outdated doors while helping us continue to strengthen campus security.
On Monday, our locksmith will be on campus to rekey the doors, helping us streamline access and continue improving our safety procedures.
🏀 GYM FLOOR REFINISHED AND READY FOR BASKETBALL!
Our gymnasium floor received a fresh refinishing over fall break, and we are ready to kick off basketball season!
The timing couldn’t be better as we prepare to host our elementary basketball tournament THIS WEEK!
We are excited to welcome our students, families, visiting teams, and community into our gym!
💧 PLANNING AHEAD FOR EMERGENCY WATER NEEDS!
Another major project we began over fall break is the installation of a new water pump station and holding tank, with plans to add a well as part of our emergency water system.
One of the challenges we have faced in the past is having to close school when there is a water outage or a problem with the water system.
Our goal with this project is simple: Be prepared so we can keep our doors open and continue educating students, even when unexpected problems arise!
Once completed and properly connected, this system will help provide an emergency water source to support continued school operations when our regular water supply is interrupted.
📶 EXPANDING INTERNET ACCESS!
We also made some exciting improvements to our internet infrastructure!
The Launch Pad now has internet access, and we have expanded our WiFi coverage out to our softball facilities!
We previously expanded our intercom and bell system to reach that area, and now we have WiFi access available there as well!
These improvements help keep our facilities better connected and more functional for students, staff, and school activities.
🔧 TAKING CARE OF THE LITTLE THINGS TOO!
Along with all of these major improvements, we also took care of several maintenance needs, including getting a freezer repaired and addressing other issues around campus.
Sometimes it is the smaller things behind the scenes that make a big difference in keeping a school running smoothly!
❤️🖤 IT’S A GREAT TIME TO BE A LEFLORE SAVAGE!
I am incredibly proud of the progress we continue to make at LeFlore Public School!
Every improvement we make has a purpose. Whether it is providing students with new learning opportunities, improving the safety of our buildings, upgrading our facilities, or preparing for unexpected emergencies, our goal is to make LeFlore Public School better for our students, staff, families, and community.
These projects don’t happen without hard work, planning, and people who care about our school. I am thankful for everyone who has helped make these improvements possible!
We may be a small school, but we have BIG goals, and we are going to keep working every single day to make our school the very best it can be!
Different by Design. Savage by Choice. One Savage Family.
