A message from our Executive Director Dr. Gregory Koons:
Today, CLIU21 joins schools and communities across Pennsylvania in recognizing Operation Safe Stop, a statewide effort to raise awareness about school bus safety and prevent illegal passing of stopped school buses. We are incredibly thankful to our Director of Transportation, Lucia Miletto-O'Brien, and our entire CLIU21 Transportation Department for their daily leadership in providing safe and reliable services for our students.
Our school bus drivers play a vital role in safely transporting students to and from school each day. They are often the first and last contacts our students have during the school day, providing a caring, dependable presence while ensuring every child arrives safely.
We ask all motorists to do their part: when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, stop at least 10 feet away and remain stopped until the lights stop flashing, the stop arm is withdrawn, and students have safely reached their destination!
