Trick or Treat hours in Leicester are from 5-7PM tomorrow which is Saturday, October 31.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3 from 7AM-8PM at the Town Hall Gym. Question 10 pertains to the school building/renovation project. A “yes” supports the project, while a “no” does not support the project. Please make an informed decision.

Members from the School Building Committee and I will be at the Leicester Recycling Center tomorrow from 8AM-noon to answer any questions about question 10. The School Committee is meeting on Monday, November 2 at 5:30PM and I will provide a school building/renovation project update at the meeting.

Dear Leicester School Community,

Thank you for your overwhelming support in favor of the LHS building/renovation project at the Town Meeting last night. It is sincerely appreciated!

Please know we are only halfway there. In order to pass the project, we need a simple majority on the ballot vote. It is question 10 and a “yes” supports the project, while a “no” does not support the project. Election day is Tuesday, November 3 from 7AM-8PM at the Town Hall Gym. Early voting is also available October 28 & 29 from 8AM-5PM.

Dear Leicester School Community,

The Town Meeting is tonight at 6PM at the LHS Gym (former Becker Gym). The only item on the agenda is the LHS building/renovation project.

Free child care is available. Child care drop off and pick up is at the Fuller Building main entrance starting at 5PM. Please fill out the emergency form upon drop off.

Shuttle buses will be running a consistent loop from the Town Hall to LHS to the LHS gym starting at 5PM and running until the meeting is over. There are signs indicating shuttle bus pick up locations.

As a reminder, two tours will depart from the Borger Building at 11:30AM and 12:30PM tomorrow which is Saturday, October 24. The tours will include the four buildings in the LHS project (Borger, Fuller, Lenfest & Swan).

Dear Leicester School Community,

We are only a few days away from the October 27 Town Meeting at 6PM at the new LHS, former Becker, gym. Free childcare will be provided with more details to follow. Also, there are free shuttle buses available starting at 5PM from LHS Borger and Fuller parking lots to the gym.

This Saturday, October 24, I will provide tours of the 4 buildings being renovated. Groups will meet at 11:30AM and 12:30PM at the Borger Auditorium. Please email me with questions [email protected]).

I was recently asked about the impact of the building project on LES and LMS. If the LHS project passes, all LPS schools will benefit. LHS will be repaired and brought up to current building code using the debt exclusion solely, while all maintenance money in the operating budget (commonly called the 950 account) would be allocated for LES and LMS. This allows us to better care for and maintain all of our buildings.

Dear Leicester School Community,

Attached is the latest information about the school building renovation project for Leicester High School, former Becker. It is important to note the reimbursement rate has now climbed to 69.7% MSBA and 30.3% Leicester.

When you factor in the $3,000,000 grant LHS previously received for plumbing and HVACR, the overall reimbursement rate climbs to 75% (MSBA & grant) with 25% coming from Leicester. There are several information sessions about the LHS building/renovation project leading up to the October 27 Town Meeting and the November 3 ballot vote.

Monday, October 19 at 5:30PM at the Town Hall, School Committee meeting

Tuesday, October 20 at 6:00PM at the Cherry Valley American Legion (167 Main Street)

Wednesday, October 21 at 4:00PM at the Leicester Housing Authority (1075 N Main Street)

Thursday, October 22 at 5:15PM Football Boosters at LHS cafeteria
