A big thank you to The Regional News for highlighting this wonderful event!

Being a mom, building a career, and serving my community are all important parts of who I am. I was grateful to share my experiences alongside so many inspiring women at the Village of Palos Park's Women Making a Difference event!

After spending five years at home raising my family, I made the decision to return to work. I know firsthand that every season of life brings different priorities, and I believe having the freedom to make the choice that's best for you and your family at that time is a beautiful thing. There is no single path that works for every woman, and each of those choices deserves to be respected and celebrated.

Women make a difference every day, often without receiving the recognition they deserve. I hope we can continue encouraging one another, supporting each other's decisions, and celebrating the many ways women contribute to their families and communities.

Thank you to Mayor Nicole Milovich-Walters for bringing us together for such a meaningful conversation!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet with Heidi Rudolph, the Village President of the Village of Western Springs to discuss several issues important to the Village and its residents.

We had a productive conversation covering local infrastructure needs, pedestrian safety, stormwater improvements, and the importance of preserving local decision-making authority.

I always appreciate the opportunity to hear directly from our municipal leaders, learn more about the challenges facing their communities, and explore ways we can work together at the state and local levels.

Thank you for taking the time to meet with me!

🏆 Congratulations to Hadley Middle School and Seventh Avenue School!

I am excited to congratulate two outstanding schools serving students and families in our 82nd District on being named 2026 Governor's Blue Ribbon Schools!

Hadley Middle School in Homer Glen was recognized for its success in closing achievement gaps, while Seventh Avenue School in La Grange earned recognition for its outstanding academic performance.

These honors reflect the hard work and dedication of the students, teachers, staff, and families who make our local schools so special. I'm happy to celebrate their accomplishments and congratulate both school communities on this well-deserved recognition!

Interesting news for Willowbrook homeowners!

The Village of Willowbrook is considering a proposal to eliminate its remaining village property tax levy and reduce utility taxes. The plan would offset those reductions through increases in local sales and hotel taxes, while also directing additional funding toward infrastructure improvements.

With families across Illinois facing rising costs and high property taxes, proposals like this are worth a closer look.

What are your thoughts on this approach? Would you support a similar plan in your community?

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and I want every survivor to know that your voice matters, your story matters, and you deserve to feel safe.

I recently had the opportunity to support the It Ends With Us Movement, an organization dedicated to helping survivors heal, find support, and break cycles of abuse. Their mission is a powerful reminder of why this work is so important.

As your State Representative, I've made protecting survivors and strengthening our laws a priority. This year, I proudly passed HB4659, legislation protecting victims of financial abuse by allowing survivors to challenge certain debts they were coerced into taking on. I've also introduced HB5563, which would establish a registry for repeat domestic violence offenders, and supported additional legislation to strengthen protections for vulnerable victims. These are important steps forward, but we have much more work to do.

Most importantly, I want to personally thank every survivor who has commented on my posts, reached out privately, or trusted me with their story. I have read your words, I have heard your concerns, and I want you to know that I am listening. Your courage continues to inspire the work I do in Springfield.

To every survivor: You are seen, you are heard, and you are not alone. 💜

What a beautiful act of kindness by the Homer Stallions Belles and Competition Cheer Team, who helped make a special wish come true for 6-year-old Rue through Make-A-Wish! Their example is a wonderful reminder of the difference we can make when we come together to bring joy to others.

As a former Homer Stallion myself, seeing stories like this makes me incredibly proud of our community!

Thank you to these amazing young ladies, their coaches, and everyone who helped create such a special memory for Rue. This is the kind of positivity, compassion, and community spirit I love to see!

Once a Stallion, always a Stallion! 💛🖤

Illinois families work hard, balance their budgets, and make difficult financial decisions every day. They deserve a state government that demonstrates that same level of responsibility.

Unfortunately, a new report from Truth in Accounting gives Illinois an “F” for financial health, ranking our state 48th out of 50. The report estimates a taxpayer burden of $36,900, reflecting years of financial obligations that have yet to be fully funded.

These numbers are concerning, especially when families are already struggling with the rising cost of living and property taxes. We cannot continue passing financial burdens on to future generations.

As your State Representative, I remain committed to responsible budgeting, greater transparency, and commonsense solutions that protect taxpayers while ensuring our communities have the resources they need.

I was extremely proud to host the DuPage, Cook, and Will County Farm Bureaus in Lemont today for the presentation of the Friend of Agriculture Award.

This award recognizes legislators whose work and voting records show support for Illinois agriculture. I’m honored to receive this award and thankful for this recognition, as well as for the Farm Bureaus’ work in all THREE of these counties on behalf of our farmers and agricultural communities.

Thank you for the great conversations and most importantly for all you do for Illinois!
