What do REI, Southeastern Electric, and Land O’Lakes have in common? 🤔

All are co-ops! And you might be surprised to learn that all co-ops are guided by the same set of cooperative principles:
1. Open and Voluntary Membership
2. Democratic Member Control
3. Members’ Economic Participation
4. Autonomy and Independence
5. Education, Training, and Information
6. Cooperation Among Cooperatives
7. Concern for Community

As we wrap up National Co-op Month, we hope you know that for SEC, being an electric cooperative isn’t simply about delivering electricity. It’s about serving you, our members, in ways that strengthen our entire community. 💪

Scheduling system maintenance now can help your heating system run more efficiently this winter. Replace your air filter regularly and schedule a professional tune-up before the winter chill arrives. A well-maintained system can improve comfort and help manage energy use.

Southeastern Electric knows the best solutions start with listening. Because our members guide our future, we’re able to focus on what matters most here at home. Local voices. Local leadership. Local solutions. That’s just one of the many reasons we celebrate the cooperative difference in October. 📣❤️

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and the latest utility impersonation scams are increasingly convincing. A scammer may claim Southeastern Electric is about to disconnect your service, then demand immediate payment through an unusual method. If you ever receive an unexpected payment request, pause and verify it. Contact Southeastern Electric at 1-800-333-2859 to verify.
