Just a reminder, White County is under a Burn
From “Arkansas Department of Agriculture“ Wildfire risk is increased across Arkansas, and the Department of Agriculture is asking residents to stay alert and use caution. Dry weather has made it easier for fires to start and harder to keep them contained, which means even small outdoor fires can spread quickly under the right conditions.”

Due to a lack of rainfall the entire state is under a High Fire Risk. Please do your part in making sure both your communities and your firefighters stay safe by not burning.

🚫Avoid outdoor debris burning.
🚫Do not discard ci******es outside.
🚫Avoid parking vehicles on dry grass.
🚫Use caution with equipment that creates sparks.

Thank you,

Jesse Babb,
Letona Fire Department

Arkansas remains at an increased risk for wildfire. Sixty‑two counties are currently at high risk, and the remaining 13 are at moderate risk. Burn bans are in effect in 63 counties. Under these conditions, fires can ignite easily, spread quickly, and become serious if not addressed right away. Even small brush fires or campfires can escape.

The public is urged to avoid activities that could unintentionally start a fire and to follow all local burn restrictions. To reduce wildfire risk:

🚫Avoid outdoor debris burning.
🚫Do not discard ci******es outside.
🚫Avoid parking vehicles on dry grass.
🚫Use caution with equipment that creates sparks.
🚫Never leave any outdoor flame unattended.

Report wildfire smoke or fire immediately to Forestry Dispatch at 1‑800‑468‑8834.

Around 11:03 PM August 23rd we got paged out to a structure fire here in town! We had a 3 min response time (page out to on scene)! I want to thank everyone on our fire department that showed up and helped get things under control quickly! We also want to thank each and every department that showed up or was on the way! Albion, Fairview, Pangburn, Joy, and Centerhill! A big shout out to all the guys that rolled out of bed to help when the tones dropped! Next time you are out and about and see a volunteer firefighter, thank them for what they do! We all came together as one tonight and made everything work! I appreciate each and everyone of yall!

Everyone please be mindful that white county is still under a burn ban! Please refrain from any outdoor burning! The smallest spark could cause a massive fire! With the drought lately conditions are extremely dry!
