Work continues on the tennis courts at Deauville Beach, we are hopeful that the tennis courts will reopen later this week with the new pickleball courts following shortly after. We appreciate the patience while we work to get this work completed to improve the experience of using the courts this summer!

Get out of the weather and come to the Nature Center for a Squid Dissection, Saturday, May 23 at 2 p.m.
Explore the ins and outs of these mysterious animals
through hands-on dissection. For ages 7+ with a paying adult.
$9 per person
Pre-registration required by going on-line by 2pm today at https://destateparks.com/Programs
or call the Nature Center after 10 a.m. the tomorrow to see if space is available.

Deauville Beach tennis courts will remain closed for resurfacing/painting work which is scheduled to start next week.

Additional pickleball courts will be added and new nets will be installed on the new courts. Due to the courts condition and for player safety old nets have been removed at this time until work is completed and the courts will remain closed for use.

Trail Update: The Gordons Pond trail work is complete the trail is now open everyday and the contractor has removed their equipment from the parking lot in Rehoboth.

We appreciate the patience and understanding while we had the work getting done.

Hello anglers! The summer drive on surf fishing season is about to kick into high gear!

Beginning May 23rd through September 7th (Labor Day) reservations are required for drive-on surf fishing during weekends and holidays at select surf fishing beaches! Secure your spot between 8:00am and 4:00pm!

The reservations for Sat. May 23rd will go on sale on Tue. May 19th at 11am! You can secure your spot online or by calling the call center at 1-800-499-8221.

Reservations for the 2026 season are only required for the following beaches:

Cape Henlopen: Gordons Pond / Herring Point / Navy Crossing / Point Crossing

Delaware Seashore: 3 Rs

While reservations are no longer needed for the remaining surf fishing beaches, a regular 1- or 2- year surf fishing permit is required for weekends and holidays at all beaches.

Don’t have your annual or bi-annual surf tag yet? Purchase it online or at any park office today. The surf tag also covers your entrance fee into any Delaware State Park - win-win!

Gearing up for another summer at Cape, the construction of the boardwalk at the McBride Bathhouse at Main Beach has been completed!

The boardwalk is now open for public use to access the beach, the bathhouse will be open daily for park visitors starting tomorrow May 1st.

We appreciate all the patience while this project was being completed this winter/spring.
