The main entrance and Gordons Pond entrance to Cape Henlopen State Park is closed for capacity. Vehicles will be turned around at the entrance. We anticipate interment closures throughout the day. We will update when we are fully reopened.

Join us for Tidal Flats Exploration on June 20 at 9:30am.
Search for fish, crabs and other aquatic life on the bay flats at low tide and uncover how these creatures adapt to this changing habitat. Wear old shoes (no flip-flops) that can get wet and muddy. For ages 7 and older with a paying adult.
$6 a person.

Reminder that this Friday, June 19th is Juneteenth. Surf fishing reservations are required at the Gordons Pond, Herring Point, Navy, and Point crossings. Reservations opened today, June 15th at 11 am.

UPDATE:
As of 6/13/26 the Tennis Courts at Deauville Beach are open for play after the resurfacing work was completed. To reserve the courts use the following link: https://app.courtreserve.com/Online/Portal/Index/15843
Work on the pickleball courts is ongoing at this time and is scheduled to be completed very soon, updates on when they are open and playable will be posted ASAP.
We appreciate the patience from everyone while we worked to make these much needed improvement to this popular amenity at the park!

Work continues on the tennis courts at Deauville Beach, we are hopeful that the tennis courts will reopen later this week with the new pickleball courts following shortly after. We appreciate the patience while we work to get this work completed to improve the experience of using the courts this summer!

Get out of the weather and come to the Nature Center for a Squid Dissection, Saturday, May 23 at 2 p.m.
Explore the ins and outs of these mysterious animals
through hands-on dissection. For ages 7+ with a paying adult.

or call the Nature Center after 10 a.m. the tomorrow to see if space is available.

Deauville Beach tennis courts will remain closed for resurfacing/painting work which is scheduled to start next week.
Additional pickleball courts will be added and new nets will be installed on the new courts. Due to the courts condition and for player safety old nets have been removed at this time until work is completed and the courts will remain closed for use.

Trail Update: The Gordons Pond trail work is complete the trail is now open everyday and the contractor has removed their equipment from the parking lot in Rehoboth.
