🎉 Get Ready for the Lewes Designer Showhouse — Coming August 15th-September 13th 2026! Official Fundraiser Event for the Lewes Fire Department🎉
We’re thrilled to share an exciting announcement! The Lewes Designer Showhouse (Lewes Designer Showhouse), a community-driven fundraising event, will take place August 15th-September 13th 2026 benefiting the Lewes Fire Department. For those new to the concept, a designer showhouse is a rare opportunity to tour a beautifully transformed home, where each space is thoughtfully reimagined by talented designers and local vendors — all coming together in support of a meaningful local cause.
This isn’t just a stunning showcase of design — it’s a purpose-driven effort to support the very people who protect our community every day.
This event will take place at 130 Franklin Avenue, Lewes, DE, 19958, a beautiful historic American Foursquare custom-build with architectural design by Mike Finkle and his company Paint Paper & Panel.
📣 Every ticket, donation and raffle entry helps ensure that our firefighters and EMS providers can continue serving our community safely and effectively — and makes the magic of the Showhouse possible.
Why It Matters:
The Lewes Fire Department now serves over 45,000 residents across 54 square miles, and emergency calls have surged dramatically in recent years — from 4,401 EMS calls in 2019 to 5,919 in 2023. Despite this growing demand, the department must raise more than $2.4 million annually just to meet operating needs and receives no development impact fees.
What You Can Expect at the Showhouse:
✨ A beautifully transformed coastal home brought to life by talented local designers and vendors - such as BSD Showroom, Susanne Horacek Interiors, Mike Finkle (Paint Paper & Panel), J Conn Scott, Karen Helme (Found Antiques), Jenn Mackey (Winterthur), Jess Johnson Interiors, Susanne Horacek Interiors, Nuttle Lumber, Millman Appliances and more!
✨ This event will coincide with the spectacular Lewes250 Project, this year, facilitated by Mayor Marasco. She has graciously taken on assisting us with the LDSH and will be joining in the cause.
✨ While the showhouse is not handicap accessible, we hope to offer a virtual tour on the website so everyone can enjoy it!
This event is made possible through a meaningful partnership between the Lewes Fire Department and Paint Paper & Panel (PPP) — combining creativity, community, and purpose.

Late last night the Lewes Fire Department was alerted to assist the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company with a working structure fire. Crews arrived to find a single family home with a large volume of fire showing in the rear of the structure. Engines 82-2, 82-3, 82-9 and Duty Officer 82-8 responded. Lewes firefighters assisted with fire suppression, search’s and ventilation. Units operated for just over 3 hours before returning to service. This was the second time in 2 days being called to assist our neighbors with a working structure fire, this is in addition to the increase in emergency calls lately that come with the summer season approaching. Come join us in our mission to serve the community with excellent fire and EMS service. We are always taking applications for volunteer firefighters, EMT’s and support staff. Contact us today for more information.

Yesterday morning around 08:30, the Lewes Fire Dept, was alerted, along with stations 70 (Bethany Beach) and 80 (Indian River)to assist Rehoboth Beach (Station 86) with a working structure fire. First-arriving crews found a 3-story multi-unit condo with smoke showing from the roof and fire showing from the third floor. The Lewes Fire Dept responded with engines 82-1, 82-2, 82-3, 82-9, Rescue 82, Ladder 82, and 82-8 (with Fire Chief Stephens). Crews assisted with fire suppression, searches, and opening up the roof and fire area. Chief Stephens assisted Deputy 86 with incident command, and Deputy 82 was assigned as the Division 3 supervisor. The incident escalated to a second alarm, bringing station 84 (Millville) to the scene and Station 85 (Milton) covering station 86. All crews did a great job with a tough fire on a hot morning.
