TVA WORKFORCE INVEST GRANT AWARDED TO CITY OF LEWISBURG OFFICE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO LAUNCH MARSHALL COUNTY ADVANCED MANUFACTURING FAST-TRACK
Lewisburg, TN – Today, The City of Lewisburg Office of Economic Development in partnership with Spot Lowe Technology Center and Tennessee Valley Authority announced it has been awarded a Workforce Invest grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to prepare our residents for high-demand careers and help our employers build the skilled workforce needed to support long-term economic growth.
Recognizing the importance of local collaboration, the TVA Economic Development, in partnership with VisionFirst Advisors, created the Workforce Invest grant program to support innovative workforce training and education initiatives tailored to each community's unique needs.
By bringing together education, workforce, industry and community partners, the City of Lewisburg Office of Economic Development, Tennessee Valley Authority, and Spot Lowe Technology Center will help align training opportunities with local workforce needs in manufacturing, robotics, and CNC machining. The result is greater opportunity for our students and residents creating a stronger talent pipeline for employers and a more competitive community to attract new business investment.
Through this grant, the City of Lewisburg Office of Economic Development will launch the Marshall County Advanced Manufacturing Fast-Track, a partnership with Spot Lowe Technology Center to expand hands-on CNC machining and robotics training for local students, adding up to two additional years of technical instruction before graduation.
The initiative addresses a growing shortage of skilled machinists in Marshall County, where local manufacturers increasingly rely on CNC machinery and robotic automation to remain competitive. By giving students extended, real-world experience on industry-standard equipment, the Fast-Track program will build both the technical skill and the confidence students need to move directly into the local manufacturing workforce upon graduation. Upon completion, the project is expected to strengthen the talent pipeline for Marshall County manufacturers, open new work-based learning opportunities for students, and connect younger residents to industrial career paths earlier in their education.
