Fergus County Clerk and Recorder The department also files birth and death records, federal tax liens, notices of action, attachments, judgments, executions and other miscellaneous documents.

The Fergus County Records department is responsible for the recording, scanning and indexing of deeds, mortgages, surveys, mining work, mortgage releases, power of attorney, military discharges and many other various documents. In addition, the department processes realty transfer certificates which are used by the State of Montana, Department of Revenue, to determine the market value of real property and must be included with every deed conveying real property. Our office also is the epicenter for Elections of Fergus County.

As time winds down on the Fergus High School bond election, TOMORROW 9/29/26 at 8 pm will be the checkered flag! It went over the 50% (51.1%) mark today and so lets just keep pushing the percentage of accepted. Courthouse will be open for drop off and voter registration starting at 7 a.m. until 7:59:59 p.m.
