While we are extremely sad to see him go we are happy for him to be able to spend more time with his loved ones while he continues his fight. With his permission we are sharing his letter with you, because together we have all joined him and his family in this battle! Congratulations Kirby, you truly are a legend!

🔥Fire Information🔥

UPDATE: The Fergus County Commission voted tonight at their meeting to rescind the Stage 1 restrictions. District Chiefs in each of our 12 fire districts will make a determination on whether they will allow permitted burning starting tomorrow morning.

Due to recent changes in seasonal weather patterns and improving fuel moisture levels, and in consultation with Fergus County Fire Wardens and the Rural District Fire Chiefs, the Board of County Commissioners will formally vote to lift Stage 1 Fire Restrictions during the upcoming public meeting on Wednesday, September 16th at 5:15 PM.

Per official protocol, restrictions will officially expire on Wednesday, September 16th at 11:59 PM. Once lifted, recreational fires will be allowed. While we are thankful for the positive change in weather conditions and moisture, we urge all residents and visitors to exercise EXTREME CAUTION with outdoor burning. Please continue to practice safety, ensure all fires and embers are completely extinguished, and respect local guidelines.

Please note that individual district fire chiefs retain the authority to maintain a local burn ban if conditions in their specific area still warrant it. Check with your local rural fire department before burning. We will continue to closely monitor and evaluate weather and fuel conditions across the county.

Thank you for your continued cooperation in keeping Fergus County safe!

Today we hosted our 4th Annual 9/11 BBQ to Honor the brave First Responders from September 11th and to celebrate our local first responders. A special thanks to Fergus Federal Credit Union, Brooks Market, and Town & Country for donating to the event. As usual, Lewistown Fire showed up big and helped put this on, we are very thankful for them! Also, a shout out to our Chaplins for their words and prayers.
Blessed to work with and have the First Responders we do in our community!
