Today, we acknowledge National Mental Health day to help bring awareness to mental health issues in the world. These are issues that many people face daily, even in our own community.

We prioritize our physical health, and sometimes forget that our mental health matters just as much. There is often a social stigma around mental health issues, so we are here to advocate for the mental wellness of our community members.

If you or someone you know is in need of mental health assistance or services, here are a few resources:

• 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 (available 24/7, free, and confidential).

• SAMHSA’s National Helpline: Call 1-800-662-HELP (4357)

• Crisis Text Line: Text HOME or SERVE to 741741 to connect with a crisis counselor.

• NAMI HelpLine: Call 1-800-950-NAMI (6264) or email [email protected] (Monday–Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET) for peer support and educational resources through the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

This is only a postponement, the project is still happening❗️We will share the new date as soon as it is confirmed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Congratulations, Venesha!

Congratulations to our own Venesha Sasser on being elected to the 2027 Board of Directors for Arkansas Economic Developers & Chamber Executives (AEDCE)!

Venesha serves as Executive Director of the Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce and the Lafayette County Economic Development Commission, leading efforts to strengthen business, attract and support investment, build strategic partnerships, and advance economic and community development throughout Lafayette County.

She was elected to serve as an At-Large Director on AEDCE’s 2027 Board, joining chamber and economic development professionals from across Arkansas who will help guide the association’s work to support, connect, and strengthen the professionals and communities they serve.

Her appointment comes at an exciting time for Lafayette County as we continue expanding our economic development capacity, preparing for new investment, strengthening workforce and community development, and building partnerships that position our county for long-term growth.

We are especially proud to see Lafayette County and rural Arkansas represented at the statewide level and to have Venesha bring the perspective, opportunities, and challenges of rural communities to the table.

Congratulations, Venesha! We are proud of your leadership and excited to see all you will contribute to AEDCE and communities across Arkansas in this new role. 👏🎉

Her term begins January 1, 2027.
