CLEAN OUT THOSE MEDICINE CABINETS!

Got old, expired, or unused medications taking up space? Don't let them collect dust!

The Lewisville Police Department is participating in the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, and we’re making it easy for you to safely get rid of unwanted medications!

When: Saturday, Oct. 24
Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: Lewisville High School
1098 W. Main St., Lewisville

Safely disposing of unused medications helps prevent accidental poisonings, prescription drug misuse, and keeps potentially dangerous medications out of the wrong hands.

A few things to remember:

Needles, syringes, injectables, inhalers, and IV solutions will NOT be accepted.

Illegal drugs are not accepted.

Don't flush unwanted medications down the toilet or throw them in the trash.

A quick medicine cabinet cleanout can make a big difference in keeping our families and community safe!

Mark your calendars, spread the word, and help us make Lewisville a safer place!

PAWS, PRAYERS & POLICE K-9s!

Even our four-legged officers need a little blessing!

On October 4, K-9 Ranger and K-9 Dero joined their handlers, Officers Robey and Lock, along with NRO Salas and Patrol Officers Van Alstine and Acosta, for the annual Blessing of the Animals at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation!

Our officers had a paws-itively wonderful time meeting some of Lewisville’s cutest residents (and their humans, too)!

Rev. Carolyn Bartkus led the special prayer service and provided individual blessings for each pet, including our very own K-9 Ranger and K-9 Dero!

A big thank you to the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation for inviting us to be part of such a special event. We loved spending time with our community, both two-legged and four-legged!

BUSY LINES, GREAT TIMES, AND A LITTLE HALLOWEEN FUN!

Our Lewisville PD dispatchers know how to handle a busy day, but they also know how to have a little fun along the way!

During September 2026, our Emergency Communications Center handled an impressive 14,971 calls!

Even with their busy schedules, our dispatchers found time for some team bonding by exchanging Halloween baskets filled with goodies! Because when you spend your days answering calls and helping others, a little laughter, friendship, and candy can go a long way!

DID YOU KNOW?

Text-to-911: Can't safely make a phone call during an emergency? You can text 911! Remember, call if you can, text if you can't.

what3words: Lost on a trail or somewhere without a street address? The what3words app can help you share your location with dispatchers using a unique three-word address.

Our dispatchers are often the first connection between someone needing help and the first responders heading their way. Their work makes a difference every single day!

To our dispatchers: Thank you for everything you do, for supporting one another, and for showing us that even during the busiest months, there's always room for a little team spirit (and Halloween candy)!

OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

Domestic violence affects millions of people every year, and it can happen to anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background.

1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men have experienced intimate partner violence with significant impacts. Behind every statistic is a real person, a family, and a story that matters.

This October, the Lewisville Police Department stands with survivors and encourages our community to recognize the warning signs, speak up, and support those who may be experiencing abuse.

You are not alone. Help is available.

NEW FACES & WELL-DESERVED RECOGNITION!

It's a great day to be part of the Lewisville Police Department!

Last night, we had the honor of welcoming FOUR new officers to the LPD family!

Please welcome:

Officer Hung Tran
Officer Sean Owen
Officer Cameron Adams
Officer Rohan Jani

These four recently graduated from the Tarrant County College Police Academy and officially took their oaths to serve and protect our community. We're excited to have them on the team and can't wait to see the difference they'll make in Lewisville!

But the celebrations didn't stop there!

We also recognized three outstanding officers with Chief's Commendation Letters for their dedication, professionalism, and exceptional service.

Officer Terrazas – Recognized for his outstanding police work and the patience and respect he shows our residents. He's earned nearly 40 commendations since 2024!

Officer Howard – Recognized for her initiative, dedication to handling difficult calls, and commitment to training the next generation of officers. She's completed 733 hours as a field training officer and received 29 commendations and kudos!

Officer Jeffers – Recognized for his professionalism, attention to detail, and investigative work. He's received nearly 20 commendations in 2026, including approximately 14 compliments from community members!

From welcoming the next generation of officers to celebrating those already making a difference, yesterday was a reminder of the incredible people who make up LPD.

Help us give a BIG Lewisville welcome to our four newest officers and a huge congratulations to our three award recipients!

We're proud to have each of you representing Lewisville PD!

THROWBACK THURSDAY!

We're dusting off the Lewisville Police Department archives again. The uniforms were different and the hairstyles were questionable.

This week's throwback features some familiar faces who may no longer work at LPD, but will always be part of our department's history!

Recognize anyone? Drop their names in the comments! Bonus points if you have a funny story or favorite memory to share!

While these former employees may have moved on to their next chapter, they'll always be part of the LPD family.

Stay tuned every Thursday as we continue digging up memories, old photos, and maybe a few hairstyles we'd rather forget!
