Doorkeepers. We have a new prayer set at Lexhop on Thursdays that we felt directed by Holy Spirit to embark on. The theme we felt led to carry is doorkeepers. It’s largely a new idea to most of us. But, as we use verses mostly associated with “door or gate” we are learning this is a large and serious topic that for some reason hasn’t been popularly plumbed. Short story, there were OT doorkeepers who mostly did a literal job. However, in modern times the job is a task to do be done by intercessors. And I have heard in my spirit from the Lord that He loves this prayer set. Also, at the beginning of this week I saw a vision of a door. I could see underneath the door where there’s just a wee bit of space between door and floor and I noticed movement on the other side. I could tell someone was approaching the door. But then the movement stopped and only hovered outside the door. Maybe eavesdropping or something. Just lurking there. And that was it. So I instantly prayed asking for understanding. And God spoke quickly to me saying the door represents our Thursday night Doorkeeper Prayer Set. And the shadowy movement is the enemy who has taken notice of this prayer meeting in particular. I wondered if this vision should be cause of concern or a caution. But God responded to my questioning mind and spoke to me “the gates of Hell shall not prevail.”

The Doorkeeper Prayers understand we have been given the keys. We can bind. And we can loose. It’s not cliche. It’s spiritual business and spiritual business is conducted in prayer more than anything else.

His words invite us to consider where our attention rests.

We can become so focused on whether a service suits us that we give little thought to the God we gathered to honor.

Yet a familiar hymn and a new song can both express gratitude.
A quiet prayer can be heartfelt.
So can joyful praise.

The style alone cannot tell us where someone’s heart is.

Worship is our response to God’s worth and His mercy toward us in Christ. We thank Him, bring Him our prayers, receive His Word, and offer ourselves with willing hearts.

We can be encouraged and still remember why we came.

“Lord, help me turn my attention toward You.”

May we be slower to judge another person’s worship and more attentive to the One who deserves our own.

Praying tonight at 7:00. Friday is our prophetic prayer set. Come out and pray with us. Tomorrow we pray with a time of soaking from 11:30-12:00. Then, Chance will be teaching. Come out and be an encourager to our dear brother.

4 minutes. Have You Hurt anyone along the way? Confess it to the Lord. And maybe send out a personal apology, whether it be face to face, on the phone, or in a text or somethin. “I’m sorry” is a healthy and mature thing to say.
