The Carter G. Woodson Academy Royal staff had the opportunity to visit the Roots 101 African American Museum with Founder Lamont Collin’s for professional learning! The student-led Woodson Institute will host its Hispanic Heritage Month Fall Symposium on Friday, September 18, 2026, in the Frederick Douglass High School Auditorium. The program will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 11:00 a.m.

CGWA Agricultre Department Fundraiser

The Carter G. Woodson Academy Agriculture Department is putting hands-on education into practice this semester with an exciting farm-to-table fundraiser. Our scholars are taking full ownership of raising and processing pasture-raised turkeys, gaining invaluable experience in livestock management, processing ethics, and agribusiness operations.

Proceeds from this project directly benefit CGWA’s chapters of MANRRS and FFA. Your support helps fund student leadership conferences, educational field trips, and career development programs in agriculture, natural resources, and STEM fields.
