Our Recycling Club picked up its first round of recycling today and conducted an audit, filling two entire recycling bins with materials that were saved from the landfill! ♻️

Taking learning to new heights! ✈️

This week, our 3rd–5th graders are participating in a free drone flying course during STEM. They’re working hard to earn their drone pilot licenses while learning about flight safety, navigation, and critical thinking skills. Take a look at them in action!

Thank you to HCHS band and cheer team for helping us celebrate our KSA Blue status on Thursday and Friday! We had a great time at our schoolwide blue out! Onward and upward Wolfpack.

Week #2 of clubs at Clubs at GME was awesome!

We want to highlight Toyota as one of our amazing community partners. Each week, representatives from Toyota sacrifice their time to provide students at GME with innovative experiences.

From building robots to solving problems about water pollution, the volunteers always have real-world learning experiences for students.

We are so appreciative of the members of the Toyota team!

💙 HISTORY MADE, WOLF PACK! 🐺

For the FIRST TIME in our school’s history, Garrett Morgan Elementary has earned an overall BLUE rating—the highest rating in Kentucky’s school accountability system!

Our overall score climbed from 74.4 to 83.7, with more students scoring Proficient or Distinguished in reading, mathematics, and science. This score places us as #9 in district Elementary Schools! Our English learner progress indicator also increased an incredible 53.2 points!

We’re celebrating our students’ voices, too! Our school climate and culture index rose 6.6 points to 80.2. Based on a survey completed by students, this measure gives us valuable insight into their experiences at school.

Behind these numbers are students who persevered, educators who supported and challenged them, and families who partnered with us every step of the way. This celebration belongs to our entire pack! 💚

As we celebrate, we’re continuing to strengthen writing and social studies and close achievement gaps so every student can thrive. These scores tell part of our story—the creativity, kindness, and growth we see every day tell even more.

Thank you for helping our Wolf Pack reach this milestone. We enjoyed welcoming back Ms. Woodford and Ms. Lizer to celebrate with us. Let’s keep growing together!

Book Fair is coming NEXT WEEK!

When: Thursday October 22 - Thursday October 29
Where: GME Library
Who: All students will have access during their library class time. The book fair will also be open to all families who attend our PTA Trick or Treat night on October 29 from 5:30 - 7
How: See the information below about how to set up an ewallet for your student on Scholastic's web site. Your can also shop online for your student.
Volunteers are also needed to help Ms. McQueary. You can email her directly or message her on ParentSquare.

We were so excited to kick off Clubs on Friday at GME. We were even more excited to expand our offerings to include students of all grade levels.

Thanks to everyone who worked hard to make this a great experience for our students.
