They hit us up, HARD, requesting that we pay for her college because they are struggling financially due to COVID. We refused, citing that he signed away his rights and we don't have children for a reason. My son (12M) is friends with Adam, a kid who's proving to be a nightmare. Adam somehow obtained an Xbox "kicker" app to boot people off WiFi. He's using it to bully my son, demanding he tell everyone Adam is the best, or else! We didn't even know this was possible until we started getting kicked offline repeatedly. Even blocking him didn't work! It happened AGAIN this morning; rebooting the modem failed, and I spent over an hour with the internet provider. I called the school; the secretary clammed up as soon as I named Adam, telling me to call the cops. He's been suspended twice already this school year! "I filed a police report, but now I feel AWFUL, like I overreacted calling the cops on a 12-year-old!". Police will speak to me before confronting him. I'm unsure if I did the right thing... To make a long story short, the period that followed was full of guilt from me and confusion from my sister's partner by my quick disappearance following our time together. He eventually texted me and asked if he had done something wrong during our time together and pi**ed me off somehow, so we met up and I came clean. The conversation was a brutal one and it eventually ended in both of us agreeing we would limit our time together from now on as there was no hope for an actual future for us - it would simply be too weird given the history.

So then we had to part, and I assumed Lin would walk home, but she asked me if I could drive her home, since it was night and she never expected the date to go for so long and that she doesn't want to walk this night. I didn't want to waste gas, plus I felt like she was just using me for my car so I politely declined. She asked one more time because she didn't want to walk home at this time, because a few guys always walked around her neighbourhood at this time.

MY WIFE IS FURIOUS!

I (36M) & my wife (35F) have a 3-year-old daughter. I have issues with my wife's sister, because my wife constantly caters to her, often at our expense. We’ve both been floored with the flu for 10 days. I've done all chores, childcare, & cooking while she rested. This trickled into my vacation week. Today, she felt better and suggested inviting SIL's youngest for a playdate. This isn't uncommon; SIL often brings her kids to us, but our daughter is never invited to their house. I reluctantly agreed but was soon asked to get them drinks, snacks, play games, etc. Going from one to two toddlers is a huge leap, especially when I’m sick. I didn't sign up for extra childcare. After 2 hours, I said I needed a nap at my mom's. The whole way there, she was phoning and texting me, absolutely furious that I'd left her to deal with it! My grandfather died and left me an inheritance, this was a surprise as not only was he not my biological grandfather but he did not believe in inheriting wealth. It's not a huge sum but it's enough that if applied right it could make a big difference down the road. I was trying to figure out a way to use the money to honor his legacy and settled on setting up some education funds for children to go to college.

I (37M) married to my wife (36F) for 10+ years, three kids. Her brother (31M) is my close friend. Years ago, he got a girl pregnant & married her, even though he wasn't in love, due to family pressure. He felt trapped. My wife loved his ex, they were close. DAD CALLED ME “COLD-HEARTED” LIKE MY ABUSIVE MOM!

I (22F) have always been my dad's confidant. Since childhood, he's vented to me about my mom (51F) and their toxic marriage. He would complain constantly how evil, mean, and controlling she is. He’d say God would punish her by hurting me. I HATED it! As a child being abused, it broke my heart and made me scared.

Now I realize they are BOTH in the wrong, but he still expects me to listen and sympathize, no matter what! A few days ago, I snapped. I told him that as his daughter, I don’t need to hear his marital problems. It’s not my business.
