This week's peak performance comes from Officer Adam Rader and Officer Donald Wilson, who are assigned to the Martin Luther King Academy. While this distinction is usually awarded to a single Officer, this week's team effort served as a force multiplier. School administration, FCPS Police, and other local law enforcement agencies operating with coordinated lines of effort produced amazing results. When faced with a complicated situation requiring investigative skills, emergency management, and leadership, these two Officers performed skillfully and led efforts to maximize safety. Tough times build tough teams, and this team performed with distinction.

Officer Rader and Officer Wilson's commitment to this department is outstanding. Thank you both!

This week's peak performance comes from Officer Jelinek, assigned to Lexington Middle School. Officer Jelinek has transitioned well into her new school this year and has quickly become part of its positive culture. Recently, Officer Jelinek led her school during a potentially unsafe situation and ensured the safety of students and staff in the building. Officer Jelinek has demonstrated this skill before and has proven her value in campus safety. While the follow-up investigation revealed the school was never in actual danger, her swift actions ensured safety was maintained no matter the circumstances.

Officer Jelinek's commitment to this department is outstanding. Thank you, Officer Jelinek!

This week's peak performance comes from Sgt. Alisa Scott, who leads Area 1 (Lafayette HS, Lexington Middle, and Jessie Clark Middle). Sgt Scott has developed a strong team by consistently demonstrating hard work, empathy, and dedication to her team over her own interests. Her dedication to service has not gone unnoticed, as she was nominated as an Honorary Captain (along with another outstanding FCPS Police officer to be recognized later) at the Lafayette High School Football Game last Friday night, September 11. This honor signifies her distinguished military service and her commitment to students, staff, and families. Her positive influence reaches many, and her commitment to safety sets the standard.

This week's peak performance (now released on Mondays) comes from Officer Jeremy Day, assigned to Garden Springs Elementary. Officer Day created a unique and extremely challenging way to raise money to support back-to-school shopping for students who may not have this opportunity. He decided to walk over 50 miles to 29 different elementary schools as part of the inaugural Fayette 50: Miles for Smiles fundraiser. In return, donations were accepted through the Fayette Education Foundation to sponsor back-to-school shopping at Academy Sports here in Lexington. Starting at 0400 hours in the morning on July 23rd and not stopping until just after 2300 hours, Officer Day successfully carried out this large task. Officer Day set an aggressive goal of raising $10,000 for his efforts and ended up raising well over $12,000. This will allow over 60 FCPS students to shop this Saturday, August 15th, alongside FCPS Police officers for needed items. From inception to completion, Officer Day led the charge, and from his hard work, over 60 students will have a better start to the school year.

Officer Day's commitment to this department is outstanding. Thank you, Officer Day!
