🍂 I had such a great time out in the community this past weekend. The weather was beautiful, and it’s truly the season for festivals here in Lexington. I stopped by Streetfest, the Warehouse Block Party, and Parktober at Ashland, and each one brought out so many neighbors, local vendors, and lots of good energy.

Thank you to all the organizers, volunteers, and participants who make these events possible. Our community shines a little brighter when we come together. Already looking forward to the next one!

There’s something special about seeing Lexington come together to learn, build capacity, and invest in the people doing the work.

We had a great turnout for a grant training that equipped nonprofits and city programs with tools to pursue Kentucky GRANT funding and other private and local grant opportunities.

Strengthening our organizations means strengthening our community.

Thank you to Kentucky Nonprofit Network, Lexington Nonprofit Coalition, Grant Ready Kentucky, Babbage Cofounder, and BCTC for making it possible.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected Lexington.

Earlier this week, I had the privilege of once again participating in Radio Eye’s annual Celebrity Reader Week.

It’s always an honor to support an organization that opens doors to information, independence, and connection for people who are blind or print‑disabled.

Radio Eye’s mission of bringing news, public service updates, and meaningful programming to those who need it, is such a gift to our community. I’m thankful for the chance to contribute to this work and proud to stand alongside so many dedicated volunteers who help make it possible.

On yesterday, I was honored to join the Christian Appalachian Project at Lexington Christian Academy for this year’s Hunger Walk. Hundreds of LCA students, grades 6–12, came together with so much heart and energy to shine a light on food insecurity.

The impact reaches beyond Lexington. CAP's work serves children, families, and seniors throughout Appalachia, and this year's Hunger Walk brought communities together in Fayette, Jackson, Johnson, McCreary, and Rockcastle counties.
Yesterday was a powerful reminder that none of us can solve hunger alone, but every one of us can do something. And when a community decides to take care of its neighbors, those individual acts of service add up to something truly meaningful.

I'm grateful for CAP, LCA, and everyone who walked with purpose and compassion. Proud to be part of a community that shows up for one another.
