🔥 Thank you Lexington Fire Department for visiting our kindergarten, first, and second grade students today during Fire Prevention Week. We learned about fire safety and how important it is to have a family escape plan in the event of a fire. 🧯We even got to sit in the real truck! 🚒

Thank you Ms. Williams for organizing this event. The Fire Department will be back tomorrow for third through fifth grades.

This Friday, October 9th is Walk, Ride, and Roll to School Day for Mary Todd Elementary. On this day, we are encouraging our students to walk, ride bikes or roll to school. This is to promote healthier lifestyles, mental health benefits, personal safety and a cleaner environment. We recognize that many of you live too far away from us to safely participate. No worries! The good folks at FaithPointe Lexington, 549 Parkside Dr, have graciously allowed us to use their parking lot that morning so you can drive from your home to the church parking lot and then it's a short walk to the school from there.

We are really encouraging as many students as possible to do this promotion and there will be several other schools in the district participating as well. This is a national health and wellness initiative. Please make plans for your students this Friday. If you already walk or ride your bike to school, no need to do anything any differently, just come the way you normally do each day. We can't wait to see everyone walking, biking and rolling in Friday morning!

Generations Breakfast & Book Fair Success!

We had such a wonderful morning on Wednesday at our Generations Breakfast! It was so special seeing our very important people enjoy delicious donuts and spend quality time together exploring the book fair.
A huge thank you to Ms. Williams, Ms. Patrick, and our amazing Student Council for all of their hard work in helping run such a smooth and memorable event. We appreciate you! ❤️

Thanks to a remarkably generous donation, every single student at Mary Todd had the opportunity to visit the book fair and select a book of their choice to take home before it ended on Friday.

🚌 Our 5th students had an awesome field trip to Toyota in Georgetown this week! They got a firsthand look at real-world supply and demand—learning that Toyota only builds a car when it’s ordered—and were amazed to discover it takes just 19 hours to build one. From robotics to engineering, our kids came away inspired by all the exciting career possibilities for their futures! 🚗💨 Thank you, Toyota Georgetown, for hosting us!

Yesterday we celebrated our first set of "Bulldog Beads"... Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade were recognized for Unit 1 ELA and 3rd Grade was recognized for Unit 1 Math.

All students scoring 75% or higher on their assessment earned a red, white, or black necklace to wear. White beads were called and those students received a fun size bag of skittles as a treat.

This year, we will not only be able to celebrate proficiency but also growth thanks to a The Fayette Education Foundation Big Idea Grant.
